**Kelly Scientific Resources is seeking a PhD Molecular Biologist with expertise in CAR-T cell therapies for an exciting new Direct-Hire Research Scientist role with one of our clients in the Minneapolis, MN area!**


We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist with expertise in molecular immunology, vector biology, and engineered cellular therapies to contribute to the development of T cell therapies. The position will play a critical role in the generation of new receptor vector constructs and troubleshooting vector expression in T cells. Prior hands-on experience in the design of CAR or TCR constructs and molecular characterization of immune cells is required. Investigation will focus on designing, engineering, and evaluating novel T cells using in vitro systems. Other duties may include bioanalytical method development, validation, and sample analysis for the extraction and quantitation of specific nucleic acids for CMC, preclinical and clinical studies supporting the pharmaceutical development of cell and gene therapies.



Primary Responsibilities:




+ Design and generate CAR or TCR constructs for genetically modified allogeneic or autologous T cell products

+ Experience in using DNA construction software such as VectroNTI or Genenious.

+ Ability to troubleshoot difficult to express CAR/TCR constructs effectively Independently design and execute molecular CAR-T characterization workflows and IND-enabling studies to characterize and optimize expression

+ Identify, monitor and manage external providers for sourcing of molecular-biology specific reagents e.g., oligonucleotides and activities e.g., plasmid production and linearization

+ Application of molecular workflows to synthesize and clone vectors using internal and external resources

+ Collaborate with the CAR T platform development team to perform in vitro characterization of novel CAR- T cells in cell-based assays

+ Design and performs studies to examine molecular and biochemical mechanisms of action in vitro.

+ Coordinates with external contract laboratories to generate novel reagents that compliment CAR products and facilitate product characterization and clinical correlative assays

+ Provides shared support for ad hoc generation of research grade genetic engineering reagents e.g. retroviruses and transposases and consult clinical grade construct for technical operation team, as needed

+ Presents at group meetings and functions as SME for molecular biology in project team settings.

+ Supervise and train analysts and junior scientists and assist them in troubleshooting.

+ Opportunity to manage research associates

+ Manage material, equipment and instrumentation

+ Order and keep accurate inventories of supplies for laboratory needs and forecast future needs based on projected needs

+ Analyze and interpret data, prepare summary tables and review raw data

+ Write SOPs, study plans and reports

+ Provide client satisfaction, quality and on-time delivery of services

+ Communicate with clients, as needed



Qualifications




+ PhD in Molecular Biology or Immunology with 2 years Research Scientist in vector biology or immunotherapy-based research, with at least 1 year of industry experience

+ Experience with designing and synthesis of CAR or TCR expression constructs and evaluation of human CAR-T and TCR therapies; Industry experience in adoptive T cell, CAR-T, or TCR therapeutics strongly preferred

+ In-depth understanding of CAR or TCR Vector biology required and knowledge on T cell biology is added advantage.

+ Experience in a GxP setting preferred.

+ Technical expertise in using DNA construct evaluation software such as VectorNTI or Geneiou
