Description **Job Description**

Position Title: Risk Management Coordinator

DESCRIPTION:

Under general direction performs independent, responsible and complex work in support of the Safety and Security Department.

Support services include, but are not limited to coordination of Risk Management functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordinates with Security personnel to prepare, review and follow-up on incident reports as required.

2. Reviews and coordinates with Human Resources the Workers- Compensation reporting process and issues.

Assists with the review and follow-up of student or employee injury and loss reports for the purpose of reviewing and processing claims.

3. Investigates all injuries, vehicle and public accident incidents (e.g. interviews involved parties and company personnel; visits sites, takes photos and measurements, etc.) for the purposes

of assuring procedures are followed and any safety hazards are corrected.

4. Reviews, records and follows up on all Accident and Incident reports including compiling appropriate information, witness statements and other documentation.

Maintains records of all reported incidents and provides updates to internal constituencies where appropriate.

5. Compiles institutional crime statistics in compliance with documentation and public notification rules.

Prepares data/reports for submission to the District Board of Trustees and, upon Board approval, to state agencies as required.

Maintains the daily crime log.

6. Assists Director of Safety and Security, Security personnel, and other constituents with Company wide Crime Prevention Programs.

7. Completes required reports to the appropriate internal authorities and other agencies and regulatory bodies (i.e. Crime Insurance Renewal, Company Risk Renewal Application).

8. Participates Company committees and training on Safety, Security, and Risk Management issues as appropriate.

9. Analyzes loss data for the purpose of identifying opportunities for improvement.

10. Assists with the preparation of employee training materials for the purpose of delivering information regarding insurance and safety procedures, ergonomics, and/or general loss control and

prevention.

11. Completes other position and site specific functions as required.

12. Provides advanced functional and operational support to the Director, and assists security supervisors and Environmental health & Safety Coordinator as assigned.

13. Maintains department budget reports on all security, risk management and environmental health and safety projects; prepares requisitions for supplies and materials.

Maintains payment schedules and ensures proper and timely payment for departmental purchases.

14. Attends a variety of meetings, conferences and workshops for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information.

15. Processes a variety of documents and materials (e.g. certificates of insurance, mail and supplies, liability and property loss claims, Workers- Compensation claims, etc.) for the purpose of

documenting activities, meeting regulatory requirements and ensuring an up-to-date audit trail.

16. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from a computer.

17. Oversees completion of paperwork to ensure prompt processing of payroll.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

2. One year of experience working in an office environment.

3. Experience working with customers.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Associate degree in Office Systems Technology or similar curriculum desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of wide variety of work processes, products, procedures, or operations which require considerable previous training or experience.

2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software - Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn use of other various software packages.

3. Skilled use of typewriter, personal computer, data entry equipment, word processor, offset printing equipment, etc.

4. Knowledge of voice mail, electronic mail and computer operations and ability to operate each system.

5. Problem solving skills which involve decision making.

6. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

7. Ability to meet schedules and timelines.

8. Maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions.

9. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.

10. Knowledge of detailed processes in advanced software such as PeopleSoft.

11. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

12. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.

13. Prepare and deliver oral presentations.

3. Flexible hours and days.
