**Job Description**


- Provides guidance and coordination for employee health & safety for entire facility, per OSHA regulations. Department managers are ultimately responsible for their employees- safety - the Coordinator is their resource.

- Report on safety, recordables, near-misses, first aid, etc. Publish monthly KPIs first day of each month.

- Investigate all accidents in a timely manner. Ensure that accident reports are properly & timely completed. Get witness statements & take pictures of area where injury occurred. Work with managers to create & implement -Corrective Actions- for any deficiencies. Track & ensure that the responsible party completes corrective actions.

- Report all recordables or major incidences immediately to the Revolution Director of EHS, Plant Manager, and Director of HR. All other incidences should be reported to Dir. of EHS within 24 hours. Post & communicate recordable/severe Incident Details/Corrective Actions within 24 hours so all employees are notified.

- Primary contact when dealing with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ).

- Create annual safety program goals and objectives that support the goals of the company. Report progress/barriers to reaching goals.

- Communicate frequently on the company-s safety performance. Positively motivate participation.

- Oversee the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and respond to incidents in the plant. Manage first responders & CPR training & processes.

- Identify proper PPE needed and assist managers to ensure employees have the proper PPE available.

- Pro-actively work with managers to find ways to continually improve safety.

- Fire extinguisher and ladder monthly audits.

- Perform drills (fire, tornado, etc.). on both day & night shifts at least annually (must document).

- Maintain safety training log to ensure all employees are current.

- Reviews Safety Data Sheets (SDS) . (Maintenance maintains SDS master binder.)

- Coordinate training on all heavy equipment including certifications and daily inspections report record keeping (ex. fork lift etc.)

- Handle accidents in company vehicles.

- Facilitate safety meetings and safety communications.

- Safety walk-throughs (along with the Department Manager or designee) of all departments at least weekly - prefer more frequently (document findings, corrective actions, & completion status on spreadsheet). Coordinator is responsible for tracking and communicating actions and verifying actions are getting completed - notifying managers when not being addressed properly.

- Conducts monthly company-wide safety meeting.

- Along with HR, place light duty/limited/restricted employees in appropriate positions to keep them productive within their doctor-s guidance. Follow up weekly on their status.

- Ensure that required OSHA 300 log documentation is complete and posted timely.

- Conduct investigations into employee safety suggestions and complaints.

- Update the injured man signage monthly.

- Oversee the administration of the security cameras (access, deactivations, reviews of occurrences).

- Approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA-s) that is prepared for third party contractors.

- Ensure contractor compliance with Pak-Sher safety and GMPs.

- Provide Toolbox topics for shift safety briefings.

- Safety briefing for guests in the plant.

- Conduct new hire Safety Orientation.

- With HR, conduct random drug tests and alcohol tests and work injury drug/alcohol tests as needed.

- Provide plant updates in production meetings with all department managers.

- Lead & oversee the Safety Committee. Meet at least monthly. Establish goals and ensure they are met.

- Stay abreast of changes in safety regulations, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.

- Continually seek personal employee development (attending training seminars, read, visit other facilities, etc.)

- May transport injured employees to LOMC or to the ER as required.

- Develop, implement, & sustain a viable safety training program (on-going safety training).

- Administer the safety recognition program (PEEP) - ensure that it is fairly administered, points are uploaded timely, and the rewards are driving the correct behavior.

- Ensure that SOPs are reviewed by department managers at least annually, updated appropriately due to changes, and are readily available to employees for guidance. Coordinator to review SOPs to ensure they are safe. Department Managers are responsible for notifying Coordinator when changes are made to the SOPs or modifications are made to the machine to allow for safety review of the changes.

- Train & maintain 2 back-ups for the Safety Training Coordinator position - day & night shift to be able to cover vacations, etc.

- Develop, implement and update the required written safety and health programs and plans. These programs and plans include - but not limited to:

1. Hazardous Communication Program

2. Exposure Control Program

3. Emergency Action Plan

4. Confined Space Program

5. Fall Protection Program

6. Hearing Conservation Program

7. Lockout/Tagout Program

8. Fire Prevention


**Requirements**


MUST HAVE:


- 5+ years in a position related to HR & safety in a manufacturing environment

- Experience with administering an effective safety program

- Experience working with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, etc.)

- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, EPA, and other government regulations.

- OSHA 30 Training Card

- 1st Responder Training

- Experience within plastics industry

- Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

- Experience with ISO/Quality

- Experience with Lean/5S/Continuous Improvement
