Job duties:

- Continuously improves our RC Tools and Processes.

- Reviews and updates methods for analyzing and presenting RC statistics for monthly reporting, monthly meeting and H&S Forum. Works with the Behavioral Based Safety Steering Team & data to align the reporting of observation and H&S stats.

- Identifies and assesses the adequacy of Methanex approaches to managing high hazard/safety critical activities, non-PSM. Partner with the PSM Engineer to ensure consistency across PSM critical activities.

- Applies appropriate Human Factors tools to minimize potential for human error.

- Works with the Responsible Care/Quality Assurance Coordinator to develop and maintain web based access to information on safety critical procedures.

- Ensures continuous improvement in managing safety critical activities

- Provides expert guidance for the site Incident Management System. Promotes incident prevention by coordinating the Incident Notification and Reporting system, provides system training to all relevant employees, ensures the integrity of the information within the database and ensures each incident has received the appropriate degree of review and investigation by line management.

- Conducts regular analysis of incident trends, communicating pertinent information to the organization on a timely basis and develops recommendations as a result of this analysis.

- Monitors the quality and completion of corrective actions resulting from incidents and safety related audits, working with line management to ensure timely close out of actions within Corporate deadlines.

- As a leader of the Incident Management System, leads and participates in incident investigations, adhering to corporate investigation deadlines, trained in Human Factors analysis tools and incorporates their use into investigations.

- Conducts all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care® ethic

- Develops & maintains Hazard ID processes and software to ensure a site wide Hazard Register. Work with the Manager, Responsible Care to develop & maintain a process for summarizing our main RC business risks for review by Site Management Team.

- Provides oversight and is the regulatory expert for the OSHA compliant procedures (i.e. WSCS)

- Identifies Major Hazard Scenarios, complete Major Hazard Control Sheets for major hazards other than process.

- Maintains a regular presence in the process unit by walkthroughs, permit audits and behavior based safety observations.

- Supports planning and readiness for upcoming TARs.

**Requirements**

-BS Degree in Safety/Chemical/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering or related discipline

-Minimum 5 years of experience preferred in a chemical-manufacturing environment

-Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

-Good analytical skills.

-Strong interpersonal skills
