Kelly has a wonderful opportunity in the **Rochester, NY** area for a **Scientific Account Representative** in the amazing world of laser technology. In this role, you will be a strategic and consultative sales expert selling custom solutions into critical companies. This is a **Direct Hire** opportunity with a starting base salary of **$85,000 - $95,000** , **a lucrative commission structure** , and a **comprehensive benefits program.** Our partner is searching for either a savvy Sales Professional with hands-on experience with diode and/or ultrafast laser technology or someone new to the industry with the technical skills and education matched with the sales mentality needed to meet and achieve expectations.

**Please note:**

** This is a specialized technology segment. A level of domain expertise is required for consideration as every sale is consultative with the result being a custom solution**

** Current residence in the greater Rochester, NY area is highly preferred, but our partner may consider relocation and/or remote (after training) for the right candidate**

** On-target commission increases your annual earnings in the 35% - 45% range**

**Responsibilities include but not limited to:**

Consult and collaborate with customers to solve their technical problems with lasers and solutions. This process includes facilitating the exploration of potential technical solutions and leading discussions which may include various subject matter experts including product managers

Product discovery/Application development including the integration of lasers into customer applications and working closely to convert home builders to customers

Support the entire team of in their activity to sell and support products allowing to attain an appropriate global market share in North America

Incubate into the R&D team potential improvements on company products - whether originating individually or from customer feedback - and discuss their feasibility and the technical, financial, and personnel requirements

Propose product improvements and potential new product design using resources in North America when the potential program merits the need to manufacture in North America

While doing product discovery, all efforts will initially focus on enhancing sales of products to customers in North America within university laboratories

Use the customer database to identify potential customers

Visit potential customers and attend trade shows and conferences in North America and convince them about the quality of the

products and the excellent customer service through demonstrations and presentations

Assist the team to achieve orders to meet the target given in the budget based on the US sales expectations

Provide support during product demonstrations, tradeshow events, and workshops

Provide detailed and profound technical and product advice to the sales team to help them understand the customer requirements, to suggest proper setups and to help with modifications required to assist customer applications

Maintain sales lead and opportunity information in the customer database to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders

**Skills and Requirements:**

High-level communication skills required to confidently display expertise and trust to the customer base

Degree in physics, physical chemistry, biophysics, optics, photonics or similar experience, MS or above preferred.

Hands-on laser experience in biophotonics or ultrafast communities, semiconductor, holography, or adjacent application spaces

Excellent computer and project management skills

Ability to build and maintain customer relationships

Confident negotiating skills and ability to influence

Eager to grow, develop, and build on current skillsets

Up to 25% travel may be required
