**Contract/Hire**



**Pay Rate: $40/hr**



We are excited to present a temp/hire Scientific Product Manager opportunity at a nutrition company known for their superior products using nature's finest whole food ingredients that are based in nature and backed by leading edge science located in Fremont, CA.



**Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:**



Include but are not limited to the following, (Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet business needs):




+ Work within cross-functional teams as expert scientist and quality advisor at all stages in the development and launch of innovative, cutting edge new products with a meaningful point of difference.

+ Work closely with the Scientific Advisory Board, Product Development team, International Executive Management team and International Product Managers to develop, launch and assure quality of products.

+ Work closely with the V.P. of Product Strategy, Research & Innovation to formulate new product development (and reformulation) guidelines for approval from the Executive Committee and the Board.

+ Participate in the management and oversight of product testing, studies and clinical trials.

+ Teamwork in the development of highly effective tools and contemporary marketing materials that perpetuate the Difference and build brand equity.

+ Maintain/enhance existing products on a global basis and put forward new quality assurance initiatives.

+ Training of Regional and International PM Staff, anticipated questions & answers preparation and ongoing product Q&A support.

+ Product training for Distributors as needed

+ Front of the room as well as remote training through web based, print and audiovisual materials.

+ Provide strategic direction on product related issues and communications to regional Product Management staff.

+ Create/manage product and science content for publications.

+ Participate in the development of short- and long-term strategic product plans to align with company goals and objectives.



**Education/Experience/Skills:**




+ Educational background in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition or related field.

+ Master degree or Doctoral degree preferred.




+ Additional qualification or experience in product marketing an asset.

+ 5-8 years industry experience in leading the development, introduction, management and promotion of products in the nutritional supplements, weight management and herbal products categories.

+ Experience with personal care and home care products an added plus.

+ Multi-level marketing industry experience preferred.

+ Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

+ Project management capability- focused on delivering results.

+ Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.

+ Ability to oversee and manage people.



**Communication and Language Skills:**




+ Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and experience making presentations in front of large audiences.

+ Read, write, and communicate using the English language to perform job duties.





**Mathematical Skills:**




+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions decimals and percentages.

+ Ability to use a calculator for performing calculations accurately.



**Reasoning Ability:**




+ Proficient in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

+ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammed or schedule formats.

+ This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and software via computer.

+ The employee is required to have the ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.

+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

+ The noise levels are usually moderate.
