**TASKS.** The contractor shall:




+ Carry out a broad range of analyses to assess the quality, efficiency, and scope of programs administered by the Division; gather and correlate data, analyze their relevance to the issues at hand, develop options, prepare reports of findings and recommend follow-up action to the Division Director or Program Officials.

+ Support the staff by gathering, validating, analyzing, summarizing, and reporting a wide variety of data used to plan and conduct scientific research.

+ Identify projects within the NIMHD or NIH portfolio and report analyses of scientific content, numbers of projects, and stratification of projects in various ways, e.g., by disease categories, human subject concerns, gender, minority codes, funding levels. Information from reports is used to provide a rational basis for key policy and program- decisions by NIMHD leadership.

+ Perform scientific literature searches using common search engines such as PubMed, Scopus or other tools available through the NIH Library.

+ Research NIH databases, strategic plans, policy issuances, white papers (e.g., reports from government agencies and professional organizations), prior- and current-year budgets, and periodic progress reports.

+ Participate in the ORTC/CHSR weekly team meetings and assist the staff with the planning of the weekly meetings (e.g., agenda and minutes).

+ Participate in NIMHD-wide staff meetings and activities.

+ Work with program officials on the planning of meetings, workshops, conferences, and with the drafting of Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA) and other reports.

+ Maintain a professional working knowledge of NIMHD scientific research programs and their policies and practices as they relate to the various NIH research efforts.

+ Plan and oversee the collection and management of scientific information within the Division.





**REQUIREMENTS.** The contractor must have:




+ Ph.D. in a related discipline.

+ Minimum of three (3) years of related experience working on minority health and health disparities topics.

+ Knowledge of developing technologies and search tools (e.g., proficient Word, Excel and Power Point skills, advanced PubMed skills, EndNotes, Scopus, QVR, iSearch and other tools provided by NIH) and develops new methodologies to address specific scientific questions.

+ Team-oriented, collegial, accountable and with self-drive to excel.

+ Mastery of English grammar, writing and editing principles, concepts and techniques and style requirements, along with strong oral communication skills.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
