We are seeking an individual to work as a Scientific Program Analyst at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:

(1) Coordinate and schedule meetings for the Illuminating the Druggable Genome Program.

(2) Schedule, organize, and coordinate logistics for meetings; arrange room and audiovisual reservations, including web-based assisted tools such as WebEx; coordinate with participants; prepare announcements, agendas, and materials for presentation.

(3) Take, summarize, and distribute minutes from meetings; track action items; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.

(4) Develop, update, and maintain information databases (e.g. SharePoint sites); provide document retrieval support.

(5) Perform grant searches; track and update award status in electronic databases; track Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA) status when FOAs are under development.

(6) Work with staff on project management; track progress toward project milestones including importance of each task and dependencies between tasks; communicate progress and expectations to the project team and stakeholders.

(7) Collect, analyze and interpret data; prepare reports and summaries.

(8) Locate scientific, programmatic, and related information on the internet and other means, including literature, web and database searches; conduct searches for material for specific programmatic needs; prepare literature reviews and summaries.

(9) Prepare presentations, spreadsheets, charts and, graphs to communicate information.

(10) Analyze business and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to devise most efficient methods of accomplishing work; plan study of work problems and procedures, such as communications, information flow, or information databases.

(11) Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor ideally would have:

(1) Masters degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related discipline; three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelors degree is equivalent to a Masters degree.

(2) Minimum of three (3) years of experience in biology or a related field.

(3) Knowledge of NIH grant system.

(4) Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

(5) Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

(6) Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
