We are seeking an individual to work as a Scientific Program Analyst at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

**TASKS/SERVICES.** The contractor shall:

Perform research and analyses in support of strategic planning, programmatic and reporting activities related to autism spectrum disorders, including collection, scientific coding, verification and analysis of data from multiple federal agencies and private funders, requiring communication with federal agency and private non-profit organization points of contact and analysis using federal databases and analytical software to create pivot tables, charts, graphs and summary data tables, preparation of text and figures for draft reports and incorporation of edits gathered from multiple sources, followed by finalization of reports for publication.

Participate in the development of new online databases and tools that will help the office to better track and analyze autism portfolio analysis data; test new versions of the database once they are created by NIMH IT staff; identify and resolve issues by working with OARC and NIMH IT staff.

Track advances in autism biomedical and services research in the scientific and professional literature and prepare summaries of technical articles for lay audiences.

Participate in all phases of strategic plan development, including researching, conducting gap analysis, organizing, editing and planning documents.

Develop and maintain liaison relationships with strategic planning personnel of NIMH, NIH, HHS, government-wide program scientists, and stakeholders, including patient advocacy organizations.

Analyze research literature and public information; prepare technical reports related to strategic planning for autism spectrum disorders.

Draft reports and results of literature analyses and/or other research to inform decision- makers; prepare and edit briefing documents and technical reports responding to public, Congressional, Department or Inter-Agency requests on scientific topics pertaining to the autism research.

Participate in the process of reviewing text, layout and graphics for professional publication of reports.

Prepare draft statements, proclamations, speeches and testimony for senior government officials, including the annual Presidential Proclamation for World Autism Awareness Day.

Communicate scientific/medical and related policy information in writing and orally in a manner that can be understood by readers with non-science backgrounds.

Track and analyze autism-related legislation.

Review reports and planning documents for other agencies and organizations to ascertain relevance to the autism research portfolio.

Identify, categorize and track autism services research, programs and activities across federal agencies and private organizations.

Respond to controlled and uncontrolled correspondence requests; provide appropriate information to members of the public, Congress, advocacy groups and government officials about OARC and IACC activities.

**REQUIREMNTS.** The contractor must have:

Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences or other related discipline and two years experience

+ Project planning and management skills

+ Software MS Office

+ Field of Study : Biology
