We are currently seeking a **Scientific Program Manager** to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in **Baltimore, MD** .

TASKS. The contractor shall:

+ Assist NIA Training Leadership with managing, supporting, and enhancing training activities provided for NIA Intramural Research Program (IRP) postdoctoral fellows.

+ Serve as training coordinator for Postdoctoral Affairs; work with Scientific Leadership on the development of recruitment and training policy and implementation and on new initiatives.

+ Organize and monitor wellness programming for postdoctoral researchers.

+ Explore emerging trends pertaining to the needs of the postdoctoral community and initiatives for improving the training, education, and employment opportunities for postdoctoral trainees; plan, design, and implement a career tracking program; evaluate the impact NIA training has had in enhancing the careers of the postdoctoral fellows; utilize creative methods to energize and engage the postdoctoral community.

+ Organize and conduct sessions on career and professional development opportunities for NIA postdoctoral fellows.

+ Conduct the annual NIA Postdoctoral in Aging Seminar Series (PASS).

+ Participate in the organization of the OSD Tuesday Seminar Series to: 1) ensure that the presentation of scientific topics provides a diversity of science for post-doctoral trainees and 2) to ensure that invited speakers are from diverse backgrounds providing a variety of scientific role models for fellows.

+ Serve as point of contact for NIH Fellows Committee (FELCOM).

+ Develop and maintain a computerized data base listing of funding opportunities for postdoctoral fellows.

+ Assist NIA Training Leadership with organizing and implementing activities to include the following:

+ Career Exploration Series

+ Wellness activities under the Be Well at Work Wellness at the NIA program.

+ As part of the Be Well at Work Wellness program, create a monthly Health and Wellness @ NIA IRP publication featuring inspiring wellness stories of staff and trainees at the NIA

+ Postdoctoral Spotlight Series

+ Professional development workshops

+ NIA Health and Wellness Advisory board

+ Baltimore Fellows Symposium Committee

+ Diversity in Aging Research Pipeline Program (DARPP) Committee

+ Responsible Conduct of Research Training

+ Postdoc Responsible Conduct of Research Refresher Training

+ Grant Writing Training

+ Postdoctoral fellows evaluation process

+ Postdoctoral fellows curriculum development

+ Postdoctoral fellows onboarding and orientation meetings

+ Postdoctoral fellows exit interviews; exit data and reports

+ Fellow-to-Fellow Welcome mechanism for visiting postdoctoral Coordinate submission and selection of Butler-Williams Scholars

+ Nathan Shock STAR postdoctoral mentorship award selections

+ Annual Postdoctoral Appreciation Celebration

+ Postdoctoral fellows Networking and community building activities

+ Baltimore Fellows Symposium

+ Extramural Grant Program Workshop

+ OITE Workshops, Seminars, Counseling

+ NIA KIOSK Postdoctoral Fellowship website and lobby monitor

+ Mentor Training

+ Annual graduate student meeting and meeting reports

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

+ Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences; three (3) years of specialized experience plus a masters degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.

+ Minimum of two (2) years of postdoctoral experience.

+ Proven leadership skills.

+ Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

+ Previous experience with teaching, training and/or mentoring.

+ Experience working with outside vendors.

+ Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects under the constraints of deadlines.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of the use of social media including but not limited to LinkedIn, Research Gate, Twitter.

+ Experience in graphic design software such as Photoshop or Canva.

+ Excellent inter-personal skills.

+ Prior career counseling experience is a plus.
