We are currently seeking a Scientific Program Manager to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

**TASKS.** The contractor shall:


+ Participate in the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of programs and initiatives in the assigned specialty area of research; review data and progress reports; implement corrective actions needed to achieve adequate research progress.
+ Carry out assigned portions of quality control programs using selected statistical methods for use in quality control analysis; identify inadequacies and inconsistencies in data; inform higher-level specialists of data issues.
+ Carry out assigned segments of more complex studies covering a wide range of topics and work with staff on the preparation of papers and reports for presentation to professional groups or for publication in professional journals.
+ Work with staff on drafting of technical reports, analyzing data from the studies, and publication of research findings.
+ Collaborate with the Project Scientist/Project Officer to support the management of research resources, technical administration and programmatic evaluation of funded grants and other activities; use electronic databases to conduct programmatic analyses; advise program staff on issues related to the program; attend scientific review meetings.
+ Plan technical and scientific workshops; prepare and distribute summaries/reports/minutes of meetings involving discussions of scientific issues or activities.
+ Conduct literature searches on relevant scientific areas; draft and circulate approval memos; track and incorporate suggested edits to initiatives; work with staff to meet timelines for publication in the NIH Guide to Grants and Contracts.
+ Coordinate the compilation and preparation of periodic reports; develop a system for tracking recurring requirements and progress toward fulfilling these; assist in preparing written reports pertaining to research progress and performance, or to operational, financial, or other issues; work with staff on preparing briefings, presentations and other reports in response to various requests.
+ Analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals, measures and objectives.

+ Review internal processes and procedures; make recommendations for improvements to promote efficiency and cost savings; evaluate, process and make recommendations for effective organizational changes.

**REQUIREMENTS.** The contractor must have:


+ Ph.D. in Neuroscience; with additional experience in Drug Discovery, Pharmacology or Transgenic Mouse Models.
+ Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
+ Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
+ Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
