We are seeking an experienced individual to work as a Scientific Research Analyst at the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:

+ Conduct portfolio analyses using various NIH databases.

+ Organize, analyze, and/or present reports related to team activities; advise on the most effective method of presentation; suggest various formats.

+ Collaborate work with NIH staff on Team TIE evaluations; make recommendations to resolve problems or improve efficiency.

+ Develop methods to track and assess team activities including goals, progress, outcomes, PIs participating

+ Track Private Investigators (PI) that participate in TEAM TIE programs (including supplements, F32,K99)

+ Complete ongoing training to advance skills as the database administrator.

+ Organize and maintain internal and external repositories of resources including minutes, reports, spreadsheets and web pages related to the team to better facilitate the efficient flow of information related to projects and program activities.

+ Assist with outreach/communication efforts through collaborating with the communications office; this includes- Website edits/additions; Piloting Reddit, Instagram, other venues; Possible collaboration with OER for advertising; NIH Guide Notices; Research grant data and program announcements-send to grantees with instructions on how to apply for specific grants/ programs.

+ Provide assistance with strengthening relationships with training programs, relevant departments, scientific societies, and other federal partners for possible collaborations

+ Coordinate, plan, and implement Team TIE focused activities at the yearly BRAIN PI Meeting.

+ Assist with technical assistance and professional development workshops and development/management (in person and/or virtual)

+ Actively support Team TIE FOA applications and awards (e.g.: K99, F32, supplements)

+ Maintain and organize Microsoft Teams platform to facilitate team interactions/sharing of information.

+ Before submission: Evaluate the eligibility and expected responsiveness of applicants; Track inquiries and maintain documentation.

+ After submission; Check responsiveness of applicants; Coordinate Institute assignments

+ During Review Stage; Take review notes; Request summary statement responses.

+ For Funding process; Prepare funding plan presentation framework; JIT reviews; checklist; Attend steering committee meetings to generate and distribute minutes and to follow up on action items.

+ Provide ongoing oversight; Assist with reviewing/monitoring progress; Update inquiry spreadsheets (K99, F32, supplements); Analyze metrics for program success and awardee outcomes; Track R00 Transitions and participate in Transition review Team activities.

+ FOA drafts/re-issues; Enter new FOAs into the appropriate forms/templates; Organize drafts, manage versions; Oversee process and track FOAs, Notices to final release; Including NOITPs, RFIs.

+ Set up calendar for each council round to include; FOA due dates, Review panel dates, SS release/SS response, Team TIE pay plan review and CT pay plan submission/review.

+ In preparation for MCWG Organization of team meetings; Create Agenda; send out Calendar invite/ call information; Take minutes-including notes on assigned task; Track action items and task providing deadline reminders to program staff; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

+ Ph. D. in Neuroscience, biomedical engineering or related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Masters degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.

+ Minimum of one (1) year of experience

+ Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

+ Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

+ Organizational and management skills.

+ Ability to organize and track diverse activities.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
