**Kelly Services is currently seeking a Scientist Biomanufacturing for a Direct Hire role in Madison, WI.**


**Job Title: Scientist Biomanufacturing**


Salary: $80k+ depending on experience


**This is a direct-hire salaried position + benefits, PTO, and additional company perks**



**Position Description** :


The Scientist III, Biomanufacturing role is responsible for duties related to protein production in support of our manufacturing services. Duties include, but are not limited to, leading and assisting on protein production projects, buffer preparation, AKTA system CIP, column packing/unpacking and cleaning.


**Responsibilities** :

Independently complete all assigned work, including execution, analysis and reporting of protein purification projects and other manufacturing activities

Participate in scale-up operation of standard product and perform manufacturing at scale and scaled-up capacity as needed

Effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists on development and manufacturing projects, play an integral role on project teams

Proactively investigate, troubleshoot and improve existing processes to achieve quality scientific results and implement new technologies

Characterize in-process samples using methods including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, RP HPLC, aSEC, LAL assay, activity assay and ELISA

Format and summarize data for project reports

Use and maintain manufacturing equipment

Evaluate and implement new technologies and work practices in the fields of Protein purification at manufacturing scale

Maintain meticulous records following good documentation practices and develop SOP library for the manufacturing services functional area

Assist in drafting master batch production records and reviewing executed batch records

Be responsible for the general upkeep of work and shared spaces and 5S activities

Be scientific lead on manufacturing projects, train and supervise other support staff as needed

Serve as a Subject matter expert during discussions with clients

Assist in design of manufacturing plans that meet the requirements of clients

Assist in generation of project reports and technical presentations and manufacturing SOP as needed



**Required Skills** :

Protein purification and protein Biochemistry

Use of FPLC (preferably AKTA systems) including method writing and data evaluation on associated software.

Knowledge of good documentation practices

Good communication skills

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office



**Requirements** :

Degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or a closely related field

Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience

Masters and 6+ years of relevant work experience

Ph.D. and 0-2 years of relevant work experience

Prior experience with protein purification and manufacturing required

Passion for hands-on work in a laboratory setting
