Kelly Scientific is currently seeking a **Protein Scientist skilled in Analytical Method Development** for a **Direct Hire** opportunity in **Durham, NC** to join a highly technical analytical team in a dynamic work environment with one of our most esteemed **Biopharmaceutical clients!**



The scientist will participate in client-based development programs as a member of the Analytical Method Development gorup! The ideal candidate will have a high-skill level on abilities in analytical techniques applicable to business needs: ( **HPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, icIEF, UV-Vis, and/or MS** ) and a focus on plate-based assays (ELISA and qPCR). *** **EXPERIENCE WITH BIO-MOLECULES AND OTHER LARGE MOLECULE ANALYSIS IS PREFERRED*****



**JOB SUMMARY:**

Responsible for the development of analytical test methods used for testing samples from the upstream and downstream development organization including design of experiments, interpretation of data, designing of additional experiments as needed, and drafting of development reports. Responsible for the development, drafting, and execution of method qualification protocols and method qualification reports of developed analytical test methods.


**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**




+ Apply biophysical, biochemical, and biopharmaceutical principles and techniques to develop and use analytical methods to support process development groups.

+ Maintain technical expertise and depth with developing and troubleshooting UPLC, HPLC, CE, gel electrophoresis, and ELISA assays.

+ Regularly exercises technical discretion in the execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals.

+ Produce high quality phase-appropriate documentation and data summaries for communication with internal and external customers.

+ Using developed methods, provide analytical testing support for process development initiatives.

+ Conduct data analysis and process implications for multiple projects.

+ Manage cost and time constraints in meeting committed targets and schedules.

+ Strive to increase throughput and efficiency in method development and analytical support testing.

+ Maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theory.

+ **_Act as spokesperson on development programs and interact positively and productively with clients._**

+ Advise management on program status.

+ Responsible for training of lower level associates.




**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**




+ Ph.D in a Scientific discipline with 0-2 years experience, M.S. and 7 years or B.S. degree and 9 years of related experience; discipline focusing on proteins.

+ Familiar with protein characterization techniques, such as HPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, icIEF, UV-Vis, and/or MS

+ Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

+ Adheres to all safety requirements and assures that departmental employees comply with required safety procedures.
