Description **Seeking a Scientist-I for a 9 month assignemnt in Lititz, PA.**

Overview:Under routine supervision, performs physical and chemical testing of raw materials, materials in process and finished product to assess conformance to applicable standards. Adheres to Company policies, governmental and regulatory requirements and maintains adequate lab supplies.

Key Responsibilities:-Perform analytical chemical testing and organoleptic analysis of materials and products.-Perform HPLC, GC and other routine instrumental analysis with minimal direction.-Perform documentation and report results of analysis according to Good Laboratory Practices.-Initiate Non-Conformance Reports when an Out of specification result is confirmed.-Update status in SAP for finished products, bulk compounds, and raw materials.-Carry out timely LIR, OOS Investigations and Reporting.-Perform raw materials testing as needed.-Analyze the physical appearance of materials and report anomalies to the laboratory supervisor or manager.-Provide guidance to technicians as needed.-Communicate with personnel in other departments as necessary.

Essential Functions:-Performs laboratory testing of raw materials, materials in-process and finished products using classical wet methods and validated instrumental methods of analysis, in accordance with company test methods.-Review unusual assay results with the Team Leader to determine the method of solution.

Qualifications:Education: BA/BS in Chemistry, related science or the equivalent.

Experience: 0-1 year related experience preferably within the pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Knowledge of and/or experience with lab instrumentation/equipment such as pH meter, viscometer, FTIR, HPLC and GC-Knowledge of Compendia such as USP, NF, EP and FCC-Computer skills with utilization of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel -Ability to work individually as well as in a team-Self-motivated
