**Job Title: Scientist I - Tissue Culture and Purification Manufacturing**

**Pay Rate: $25 hour**


The Tissue Culture and Purification Manufacturing Scientist I will be responsible for antibody production by use of hybridoma and gravity purification methods. These methods may include Roller Bottle production, bioreactor, and/or wave bag production. Purification may be performed on Protein A or affinity columns and may include use of FPLC. This individual will function as an integral member of the Manufacturing team.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):**

As Manufacturing Scientist I, weekly batch records will be given with written

instructions to perform the appropriate tissue culture. Must possess

basic mathematical skills and provide accurate data documentation and work in a timely and efficient manner to produce a quality product. Specific

responsibilities include:

Learn department policies and procedures per departmental SOP

Complete assigned work order and secure necessary documents

Prepare and initiate all prep work and documents for assigned work order under supervision

Follow all departmental guidelines and procedures

Thaw and maintain cells under supervision

Freeze cells as necessary under supervision

Learn the necessary equipment associated with the job under supervision

Input data into the database

Maintain lab supplies inventory and re-order as necessary

Prepare Tissue Culture Medium as necessary

Prepare resins and columns for use in purification

Complete purification processes using Protein A or affinity columns

Complete SDS page gel electrophoresis, isotyping, mycoplasma, and HPLC in process testing


Preferably a Bachelor of Science degree:

0 - 3 years experience in a related field, preferably manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Manufacturing Scientist I ideally will have experience in a variety of areas to support the business objectives:

Good working knowledge of computer, Microsoft Word and Excel

Good laboratory mathematical skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment

Team player

Well organized and detail oriented

Good interpersonal skills
