**Kelly is actively recruiting for a - 2nd Shift -** **Scientist II - Raw Material (Wet Chemistry)** **as a Direct Hire in Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area, MN (relocation assistance available).** **This is an office job but they are looking for a scientist that can review documents. This should be a Scientist that can review docs so they need a few years of experience**


Summary

The ideal candidate is one who will thrive working in a highly dynamic, team oriented environment; sharing the common goal of providing reliable data to our clients that can be used to improve the safety and effectiveness of materials produced and used in pharmaceutical and medical device products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

Perform routine laboratory activities in support of testing medical devices, pharmaceutical products and raw materials, utilizing appropriate instrumentation including polarimeter, rotational viscosity, Karl Fischer titrations, visual titrations, inherent viscosity, capillary viscosity, refractometer, density meter, FITIR, UV-Vis, FOSS nitrogen determination, melting point apparatus.

Support method transfer and validation activities within operational area with supervision and support from laboratory supervisors, principal staff, and/or senior staff

Support the process of compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results

Assist with laboratory investigations

Participate in quality, cGMP, safety, method and technique training appropriate for their area



Qualifications

* Education and/or Experience Four-year degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Physics; Previous laboratory work experience preferred with 2-3 years in cGMP & GDP environment. Must have strong interpersonal skills, strong communication, appropriate technical skills, technical writing skills, problem solving skills, ability to multi-task, interact with multiple groups in a team oriented environment, plan, implement, and review continuous improvements.

* Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

* Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

* Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

* Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

* Computer Skills Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office products especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and the ability to multi task between products.


This role would start out working Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and from time to time coming in early, staying late, working overtime, and occasional weekend work to meet the needs of our clients.
