We are currently seeking a Scientist with a specialty in Immunology/Tumor Biology to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

TASKS. The contractor shall:

+ Maintain and culture human and mouse cancer cell lines for in vitro experiments.
+ Prepare mouse tumor cells for in vivo tumor implantations.
+ Monitor and treat tumor-bearing mice, including weight checks, tumor measurements, intraperitoneal drug injections, subcutaneous saline injections, and tumor harvest.
+ Perform advanced flow cytometry experiments to include design and compensation of multicolor panels and cell sorting.
+ Perform multiple molecular biology assays and techniques including CRISPR/Cas9, ELISA, Western blots, and PCR.
+ Digest and process mouse and human tumor specimens for analysis by the above assays.
+ Separate and analyze subpopulations of mouse and human immune cells from blood and tumor samples.
+ Stain frozen sections of tumor tissue by immunofluorescence and analyze with confocal microscopy.
+ Analyze data using FlowJo and GraphPad Prism software.
+ Maintain records of all experiments in laboratory notebook, including planning, execution, outcome and evaluation of experiments performed.
+ Work with staff to mentor and train lab fellows and other members of the lab.
+ Prepare manuscripts and figures based on findings and results for journal submission.
+ Attend laboratory meetings and present findings to staff.
+ Prepare presentations for NIH, regional and national meetings.
+ Provide occasional administrative lab support to include maintenance of stock solutions, maintenance and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, and ordering and stocking of lab supplies.
+ Provide support for the long-term research program in the Tumor Biology Section.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

+ Ph.D. in a related life sciences discipline.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a research laboratory environment.
+ Minimum of two (2) prior first-author research papers (published or in press).
+ Prior bench laboratory experience.
+ Prior mouse handling experience.
+ A strong foundation in immunology, tumor biology and/or molecular biology.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
