We are seeking an individual to work as a Scientist (Genetics, Sequencing, and Molecular Biology focus) to support the Laboratory of Lymphoid Malignancies at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.


This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:

(1) Provide analysis of large patient derived datasets of exome and RNA sequencing data.

(2) Conduct research and perform a variety of specialized laboratory techniques in mouse studies, bioinformatics, tissue culture, and molecular biology, in support of the scientific research program of the Laboratory of Lymphoid Malignancies.

(3) Maintain detailed records of laboratory experiments and perform statistical analysis of data, prepare tables, charts, graphs, summaries for inclusion in publications.

(4) Provide technical expertise for substantial and effective contributions to research through scientific discussions with laboratory staff and collaborators as well as actively teaching methods at the lab bench.

(5) Contribute as an author and/or co-author in the writing and preparation of scientific papers for publication in recognized journals.

(6) Maintain supplies needed for research experiments

(7) Attend training sessions for new methodologies and techniques as needed


REQUIREMENTS. The contractor ideally would have:

(1) Ph.D. in a scientific field.

(2) Minimum of four (4) years of postdoctoral experience in a related field

(3) Strong background in genetics, bioinformatics, and/or molecular biology as demonstrated by first-author publications in peer reviewed journals

(4) Experience working with mouse models (including colony maintenance) and patient samples

(5) Excellent analytical and writing skills to prepare a variety of responses, meeting materials, technical and administrative correspondence and reports

(6) Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize complex tasks and projects
