Kelly Services is seeking an **SDS** **Global Specialist** for our client, a global chemical company, in Midland, MI. This position is a **one year contract** due to a project

**Work Schedule:**

Standard Day Shift Hours - Monday thru Friday

Working under the guidance of the Global SDS Specialist, demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skill to abstract and summarize key information from technical reports and apply information to the selection of hazard statement on Safety Data Sheets (SDS). This includes ability to translate hazard information from a variety of internal and external sources into hazard statements reported on safety data sheets to guide safe handling and use of their products. They will also be trained to understand and apply regulatory requirements for CLP, OSHA, EU C&L UN GHS purple book, DG Marine Pollutants and unique jurisdictional regulatory requirements and have the ability to interpret study results to assign correct classifications to ensure global compliance for transportation and sales of Dow products.


* Applies technical expertise in mammalian, ecotoxicology and environmental fate data and global testing guidelines when reviewing Dow substances and mixtures.

* Conduct full toxicology reviews for substances and mixtures, interpret and summarize new hazard information identified internally and/or in the publically available literature and databases for entry into NEA; assess impact of data for compliance with global regulatory classification and labeling requirements.

* Understands impact/implications of general toxicology and environmental fate for downstream SDS phrases (i.e. IH, medical, transportation phrases).

* Technical competency in global regulations and ability to determine impact of changes in regulation (e.g. UN Purple Book, European Classification and Labeling, REACH, etc)

* Technical competency in NEA database to ensure data entry appropriately links to relevant substances and products in the property tree


* Bachelors degree in related Environmental Studies

* Understanding of Eco-toxicology, environmental impact studies

* Solid computer skills, reporting and documentation experience

* Solid understanding EHS and safety practices.
