**Senior Associate Scientist - Oncology-based assays, San Diego, CA**



**Position Type:** Long-term contract for 1 year with strong potential for full time hire.



**Schedule/Shift:** 1st shift, Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm. Weekend/OT: Not required but may happen.



**Job Duties and Responsibilities will include:**




+ Seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist with experience in hematology and immuno-oncology-based assays to participate in drug discovery research.

+ Emphasis will be in primary tumor cell biology assay development.

+ The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment to discover novel drugs and to understand their molecular mechanism of action.

+ Responsibilities will include development of primary tumor cell and cell-line based co-culture assays to support compound development, inform clinical combination strategies, understand mechanism of action, and help biomarker selection.

+ Experience with developing high-throughput screening assays is required.

+ The successful candidate will work closely with discovery and development project teams and scientists across the PH TCoE functional areas.



**Job Requirements:**




+ Bachelor s degree (BS) in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related scientific discipline with at least 8 years laboratory experience or Master's (MS) degree with at least 5 years industry experience.

+ Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture using single cells and co-culture cell models. Experience using single compound treatment and combination treatment studies is essential.

+ Extensive experience designing, implementing and analyzing compound effect using multiple platforms (flow cytometry, Incucyte, Cellomics, Western blot, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence and functional assays such as cell cycle and apoptosis).

+ Experience with the use automation instruments is required.

+ Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills are required as well as the ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments through completion.

+ Data analysis skills and experience with a variety of scientific software applications are required

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic team environment; flexibility to adapt to changes with a positive attitude.
