We are looking for a Senior Clinical Laboratory Associate Scientist who will be responsible for the laboratory processing, development, experimentation, and management of innovative multi-omic assays for novel applications in Oncology.

This role will provide expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based analyses of DNA and other biomarkers. Work closely with the laboratory team to automate the laboratory processes and workflows as we develop a high-throughput production environment ahead of product launch. Use your analytical, clinical, and programming abilities to identify ways to rapidly iterate and improve on existing methods, run comparative experiments on various equipment, reagents, consumables and work closely with computational biologists to evaluate technologies that will validate our assay in an analytical, clinical, and end-to-end test setting.

**Specific Job Responsibilities:**

+ Accurately perform experimentation of molecular testing, using a variety of molecular biological techniques including sample and library preparation and next generation sequencing.

+ Handle biospecimens in a molecular diagnostic setting with separate areas of pre-PCR and post-PCR procedures rooms

+ Conduct daily quantitation and qualification assessment of molecular data generated during testing.

+ Support sample accessioning, processing and storage workflow.

+ Operate high-throughput liquid handler to handle large cohorts of samples.

+ Carry out QC/QA activities using tools like the Tapestation, BioAnalyzer, and Qubit.

+ Participate in a variety of other essential laboratory activities, including reagent qualification, inventory management, procedure writing, inspection preparation, assay validation and investigation.

+ Perform and document routine preventive maintenance and independently identify and troubleshoot highly complex problems that adversely affect test performance.

+ Identify root cause and document all corrective actions taken when test systems.

+ Assist with training of new laboratory personnel including contractors, technicians, interns, and junior CRAs.

+ Participate in weekly assay development and bioinformatics meetings assisting in the dialogue to drive assay improvements, new assay configurations and validation.

+ Fill the gaps for Lab Director, Head of Assay Development, and other key team members.

+ Apply expert knowledge of molecular biology, nucleic-acid biochemistry, and next-generation sequencing to develop assays for DNA and RNA, including genome-wide and targeted approaches.

+ Develop assays by converting manual prototypes into optimized, high-throughput validated assays.

+ Analyze existing and development method data to identify workflow and protocol improvements.

+ Collaborate with computational biologists and software engineers to build analysis pipelines and to integrate new molecular technologies into analytical workflows.

+ Collaborate with clinical laboratory members to transition development protocols into production, including automation, validation experiments, and SOP development.

+ This role requires meticulous record keeping, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and be flexible with assignments and schedules.
