Kelly is hiring a **Senior Health Equity Learning & Development Lead** for one of our biotech clients

+ Pay:$90-$116/hr

+ Remote

+ 1 year contract to start


The US Health Equity & Community Affairs team leads the strategic planning and execution of Takedas vision for health equity. In addition, this unit pursue and manages relationships with Takedas external and community stakeholders to operationalize our commitment to building community wellness. We are searching for an experienced Health Equity Learning & Development Lead to support the introduction of a foundation of learning and understanding on health equity, the social determinants of health, and systems change thinking in pharma, to address health inequities. We are seeking a leader with a deep, demonstrable grasp on health equity, to shape and lead the execution of Takedas strategy on embedding and embracing health equity throughout our enterprise, and to serve as a technical in-house expert and conduit to our business units on operationalizing health equity in their day-to-day activities.

Create, coordinate, implement and drive project plans to completion in alignment with the strategy, timelines and objectives of the US Center for Health Equity & Community Affairs

Manage complex, multi-stakeholder health equity projects utilizing sound project management skills and expertise to complete high quality outputs on time and in budget.

Provide overall coordination, implementation, control and completion of project(s), while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the health equity & community affairs team.

Create project documentation, such as project plans, timelines, progress reports, measures, team and stakeholder communications, resource needs and time management

Identify and highlight risks and issues within the project(s) and escalate appropriately. Identify, develop, and implement effective mitigation and escalation strategies for projects to address risks and issues

Lead regular project reviews with stakeholders, including Takeda US & global executives, and national stakeholders

Liaise cross-functionally to provide transparency into project rationale, communicate requirements, promote compliance to new processes/systems and influence change management to ensure adoption

Ensure projects follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Support internal Takeda communications and participate in internal (e.g.: cross-functional initiatives) groups/committees to support development of health equity strategy & best practices for US-centric Takeda projects and business units.

Develop, contribute and support the implementation of health equity learning & development strategies

Lead Liaison for communication on US-centric health equity and community wellness efforts collaborating with Takedas communications team and additional communications support.

Manage internal and external health equity learning opportunities, including Takeda-led health equity focused roundtables, conferences, and symposia.

Manage and support health equity communication mediums for VP, Health Equity & Community Wellness and Center for Health Equity & Community Affairs.

Manage the change champion program to ensure optimized continuity in collaboration with the partners

Drive development and implementation of tools and training to enhance health equity understanding and application within therapeutic areas and various business units.

Create metrics and methodology to determine performance of Takedas health equity learning and development strategies.


Masters Degree required. Advanced degree preferred


Minimum 7 years experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects in public health, community health, healthcare, or pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Firm understanding of health equity, rural health, social determinants of health, impacts of racism and other forms of oppression on health outcomes in the U.S.

Proven leadership skills, conceptual thinking and strategic problem-solving ability.

Demonstrated ability to lead, facilitate, and influence discussion via virtual forums

Demonstrated success leading long-term projects and/or multiple projects at the same time in a matrix environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).

Strong experience and advanced proficiency with Excel and MS Project to leverage project planning tools

Proven ability to adapt to change and manage cultural change in an evolving environment.

Ability to write and speak in the English language


Experience with planning and managing all phases of health equity learning & development (e.g., co-facilitating internal workshops on health equity, creating resources for multiple levels of learners, ability to translate complex health equity language to varying audiences).

Experience planning and participating in health equity-focused programming

Experience with SharePoint, specifically for modern team sites and implementation and/or maintenance of web parts

National Community Health Educator (NCHE), Community Health Educator Specialist (CHES), PMP and/or Change Management Certification,

Process Improvement capability or training (eg, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills:

Multi-tasker and self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, project management and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to work across cross functional teams and obtain buy-in and alignment is critical to success in this position

Demonstrates problem-solving and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions within cross-functional teams, consultants and vendor(s).

Demonstrated advanced understanding of health equity, with the ability to explain the concept to varying audiences of comprehension, in the same conversation. Demonstrates advanced computer software and system skills.

Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders

Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal presentations skills

Business acumen with exceptional attention to detail, and ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization and with external partners.
