**OBJECTIVES:**

The Office of US Health Equity & Community Affairs leads the strategic planning and execution of Takedas vision for health equity. In addition, this unit pursue and manages relationships with Takedas external and community stakeholders to operationalize our commitment to building community wellness. We are searching for an experienced Health Equity Policy & Data Lead to support the introduction of a foundation of data collection, metrics, and policy analysis focused on health equity, the social determinants of health, and systems change thinking in pharma, to address health inequities. We are seeking a leader with a deep, demonstrable grasp on policy and leveraging data for health equity, to shape and lead the execution of Takedas strategy on measuring our progress on embedding and embracing health equity throughout our enterprise, and to serve as a technical in-house expert and conduit to our business units on leveraging data for health equity, in their day-to-day activities. This position will work in lock-step with our U.S. Public Affairs and U.S. External Affairs teams on creating and implementing a policy platform to address the social and structural determinants of health that impede wellness.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES:**

Create, coordinate, implement and drive project plans to completion in alignment with the strategy, timelines and objectives of the US Center for Health Equity & Community Affairs

Manage complex, multi-stakeholder health equity projects utilizing sound project management skills and expertise to complete high quality outputs on time and in budget.

Provide overall coordination, implementation, control and completion of project(s), while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the health equity & community affairs team.

Create project documentation, such as project plans, timelines, progress reports, measures, metrics, dashboards, team and stakeholder communications, resource needs and time management

Identify and highlight risks and issues within health equity data project(s) and escalate appropriately. Identify, develop, and implement effective mitigation and escalation strategies for projects to address risks and issues

Lead regular project reviews and data walk-thrus with stakeholders, including Takeda US & global executives, and national stakeholders

Liaise cross-functionally to provide transparency into project rationale, communicate requirements, promote compliance to new health equity data processes/systems and influence change management to ensure adoption

Ensure health equity data projects follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Support internal Takeda communications and participate in internal (e.g.: cross-functional initiatives) groups/committees to support development of health equity data and policy strategy & best practices for US-centric Takeda projects and business units.

Develop, contribute and support the implementation of health equity data & policy strategies

Lead Liaison for communication on US-centric health equity data and policy efforts collaborating with additional Takeda stakeholder as appropriate.

Manage internal and external health equity data sharing and learning opportunities, including Takeda-led health equity focused roundtables, conferences, and symposia.

Manage and support health equity communication mediums pertaining to health equity data tracking and health equity policy platforms for VP, Health Equity & Community Wellness and Center for Health Equity & Community Affairs.

Liaise collaboratively with Takeda U.S. Public Affairs and U.S. External Affairs team to track and respond to policy requests for comment, as well as staff important policy gatherings including meetings with Congressional staffers, and other national leaders.

Drive development and implementation of data tools and training to enhance Takedas health equity impact through tracking and data analysis, within therapeutic areas and various business units.

Create metrics and methodology to determine performance of Takedas commitment to operationalizing health equity internally and externally.


**Education:**

Bachelors Degree required. Advanced degree preferred


**Experience:**

Minimum 7 years experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary data projects in public health, community health, healthcare, or pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Firm understanding of health equity, rural health, social determinants of health, impacts of racism and other forms of oppression on health outcomes in the U.S. Experience leading initiatives in health policy, and working with key decision leaders and stakeholders in policy.

Proven leadership skills, conceptual thinking and strategic problem-solving ability.

Demonstrated ability to lead and influence via virtual forums

Demonstrated success leading long-term projects and/or multiple projects at the same time in a matrix environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook). Proficiency with Tableau, STATA, and other statistical software as appropriate.

Strong experience and advanced proficiency with Excel and MS Project to leverage project planning tools

Proven ability to adapt to change and manage cultural change in an evolving environment.

Ability to write and speak in the English language

Preferred:

Experience with planning and managing all phases of health equity metric development, analysis, and reporting (e.g., requirements gathering information, designing metrics, feedback mechanisms, dashboard displays, data management support).

Experience planning and participating in executive level discussions on measuring impact for health equity

Experience with SharePoint, specifically for modern team sites and implementation and/or maintenance of web parts

PMP and/or Change Management Certification

Process Improvement capability or training (eg, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills:

Self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, project management and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to work across cross functional teams and obtain buy-in and alignment is critical to success in this position

Demonstrates problem-solving and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective interactions within cross-functional teams, consultants and vendor(s).

Demonstrates advanced understanding of health equity. Demonstrates advanced computer software and system skills.

Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders

Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal presentations skills

Business acumen and ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization and with external providers.
