**Senior IT Support Technician**


Location: South San Francisco, CA (on-site)


Duration: Contract to Hire


Kelly Technology is currently recruiting for a Sr. IT Support Technician to work on-site in South San Francisco. This role is heavy MacOS and some Windows support. Prior experience with JAMF for MDM is highly desired but not required.


The Senior IT Support Technician provides delivery of end-user support for employees, including remote users. Senior IT Support Technician oversees the overall flow of support processes and coordinates the implementation and use of support delivery/automation tools such as machine imaging/buildout, application provisioning, and remote support systems. Supported technologies include Mac and Windows workstations, Office 365, Cisco phones, and other on-premises and hosted systems.


Senior IT Support Technician with the core purpose of being the point of escalation for the tier 1 and tier 2 support technicians under the Corporate Infrastructure team. This role also functions in an Operations capacity for our Corp IT Engineering team, verifying, validating, and testing bugs, changes, and other production impacting issues alongside our Corp IT Engineering team.


Duties


Lead user service-delivery function


Review tickets within the CORP IT space for trending issues/impacts and engage accordingly


Review, update, create knowledge articles as needed when issue, resolutions, or processes are defined.


Help team overcome obstacles and be a point of escalation when issues arise


Provide support to end-users


Be the check gate between support and engineering.


Triage and assign tickets, taking ownership of assigned tasks.


Troubleshoot complex issues with Mac OS, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems.


Engage with Engineering weekly meetings and understand, engage, support them as required.


Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral components such as lab equipment, monitors, keyboards, printers, AV conferencing devices, and Cisco phones.


Document work and contribute to knowledge base


Manage workstations


Deploy and decommission workstations.


Troubleshoot system hardware (Apple and Lenovo) and manage repairs for defective devices.


Create and maintain system/software deployment images and scripts.


Manage hardware inventory and keep records of system location / movements.


Be an integral part of the image control and management process


Control access to systems


Manage Active Directory users, security groups, distribution groups, service accounts, and computer objects.


Follow documented processes to manage access to company resources.


Develop and streamline departmental processes


Contribute to development of departmental processes, with consideration of practicality and compliance with applicable standards.


Work closely with Engineering teams to support staff to identify and take care of bugs, and design solutions and expansions


Offer technical support to the executive staff for internal network functions and any Internet-enabled applications


Develop tests and automations to reduce workload, risk, touchpoints, and other value add opportunities.


Required Skills:


4+ years in system support role with familiarity of support standards and customs including


2+ years in infrastructure role capacity such as network, security, operations


Mac OS X use and support


Supporting Windows clients; Windows 7, 8.x, and 10


Strong knowledge and practical use of Mac OS and Windows OS/Microsoft Office365


Well-organized, reliable, and attentive to timelines


Fundamental understanding of corporate infrastructure, and functional support


Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities


Creative, flexible with solid troubleshooting skills


Proven ability to function well in a team environment


Good knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office Suite of products


Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences


Preferred:


BS/BA degree preferred, but not required


A+, Net+, Sec+ Certifications (or similar) preferred.


Basic computer networking


Microsoft Office suite for Windows and Mac platforms


Active Directory infrastructure


Office 365 use and management


Scripting in PowerShell or similar
