This role supports the Rapid Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) business unit in San Diego, California, part of the group of diagnostics businesses. This position is key to driving the execution and implementation of programs within Operations. Reporting to the Director of Program Management Office, the Senior Manager will work to increase operational capabilities by scoping any New Product Introduction (NPI), process improvement, cost savings, or other project/programs that will impact operational effectiveness. This role will assume responsibility for development and execution of strategy impacting the validated state of the medical device being manufactured at RDS in San Diego. Successful Sr. Managers work collaboratively with Core Team members from various functions (Product Marketing, Development, Quality, Customer Support, etc.) to improve transfer predictability frequently under aggressive timelines. This position will have multiple direct reports who support both Operations NPIs and sustaining projects that involve validation activities. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in parallel, and communicate with all levels of the organization.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Provide leadership to the Product Commercialization Process (PCP) within Operations

+ Lead large programs/projects, with a multidisciplinary technical scope across RD

+ Collaborate cross-functionally to create, execute, and communicate overall project plans (scope, schedule, staffing plans, quality, risk management, budget, and procurement) and revise them appropriately to meet changing project needs and requirements.

+ Coordinate activities between project teams to design and deliver Thermo Fisher Scientific products that are assembled to, made to, or engineered to order

+ Independently manages other validation engineers and/or consultants, tracks overall validation master plan progress and provides dashboard updates to senior management

+ Consults with management, assesses customer requirements, and studies product characteristics to select validation objectives and standards

+ Develops validation strategies and approaches consistent with all applicable site guidance documents and writes protocols for validation or performance testing of manufacturing equipment, processes, or systems

+ Manages 4-7 direct reports who are responsible for Operations NPI deliverables, as well as sustaining projects.

+ Focus on 5 priorities: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity/Cost and People

+ Lead, coach, engage, empower, and motivate the project management team to prioritize and deliver project goals and objectives

+ Proactively communicate project status, issues & risks to business leaders

+ Facilitate tracking and managing project cost and ensure margins are aligned with the business approved project margin

+ Organize and facilitate project planning, daily/weekly stand-up meetings, reviews, and other project related key milestone commitments

+ Establish an environment where accountability and continuous improvement are fundamental to the culture


**Requirements** :


+ Bachelor of Science in related field

+ 10 years industry experience in project or program management

+ Experience with 510k

+ Experience with diangostics and/or IVD
