**JOB DESCRIPTION.** This position will provide support to the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC). Specifically, the individual in this position will:

+ Develop, plan, execute, and manage NMRC Naval Advanced Medical Development programs

+ Provide research expertise and program support to senior organizational leaders regarding procurements, schedules, technical risk, user impact, and technology transfer efforts

+ Collaborate with external stakeholders, including public affairs offices, consumer organizations, and professional societies

+ Maintain understanding and working relationships with stakeholders to track milestones, funding profiles, and deliverables for ongoing efforts

+ Provide program bi-monthly progress reports

+ Develop quarterly briefing materials

+ Develop project plans for yearly assessment of acquisition programs on average of up to fifteen performers covering an estimated five to seven medical acquisition programs

+ Prepare program documentation to include appropriate documentation in support of relevant Department of Defense and Secretary of the Navy Assurances regarding human research protections and animal use

+ Provide oversight, quality control, and possible supervision of work and deliverables from team members

+ Ensure compliance with IRB, HIPAA, IACUC, and other governmental regulations and policies


+ Doctoral degree (or Masters and 3 years experience), preferably within the Biomedical Sciences or related field

+ 12 years of relevant work experience in research or executive program management

+ Experience in DoD and/or Navy medical research, development, test and evaluation programs

+ Demonstrated strength in oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact on a professional and technical level with DoD, academic, industry, and congressional stakeholders

+ Knowledge of the DoD acquisition process (e.g., DoDI 5000.02 and SECNAVIST 5000.2E)

+ Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks and organize information in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, relying on your own resources and initiative

+ Experience managing medical research and clinical trials

+ Professional certifications (PMP) and/or DAWIA is preferred
