**Senior Scientist in Biochemical Toxicology**

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Senior Scientist in Biochemical Toxicology for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in San Diego, CA.

**Senior Scientist in Biochemical Toxicology to be located in La Jolla, CA.**

**Scope and responsibilities**

+ Develop and implement translational safety strategies to support project teams to develop lead molecules, for multiple drug modalities such as siRNA, PROTAC,

+ Bispecific antibody, CAR T-cell therapy and so on

+ Leverage multi-omics datasets by collaborating with bioinformaticians

+ Initiate and perform early hypothesis-driven investigation into mechanisms of various tissue or organ toxicities for the proactive management of potential safety liabilities and communication of impact to teams

+ Work closely and be an avid contributor within the multi-disciplinary team to leverage expertise in immunology, cell molecular biology, computational chemistry and biology

+ Be part of the evidence generation group by working closely with pathologists, toxicologists, DMPK scientists, chemists and others to aid submission and mitigate toxicology findings

+ Communicate study results and provide guidance to stakeholders in applying those results toward strategic decisions

+ Identify, pilot, and evaluate emerging novel technologies to expand translational capabilities

+ Help build external network of leaders to enable strategic partnerships in translational and biomarker research

**Qualifications** :

**Required Skills:**

+ PhD in biochemistry or a related field with at least 5 years, or MS with at least 10 years, of post-graduate experience in an academic or industry setting.

+ An extensive background in proteomics and/or mass spectrometry imaging is required.

+ A track record of de novo mass spectrometry methodology design for both small and large molecules in complex biological samples is required.

+ Proven record of creative thinking and a deep understanding of biology is required

+ Excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills are required.

+ Experience with biochemical, molecular and cellular biology techniques. Fluorescence imaging is required.

**Preferred Skills** :

+ Demonstrated project team experience at a pharmaceutical company and ability to work effectively in a matrix, global environment as part of a multidisciplinary team is strongly preferred.

+ Ability to leverage large omics data sets preferred.

+ First-hand experience with cell cultures e.g., organoid iPSC preferred.

+ Clinical biomarker experiences preferred.

+ Strong self-motivation and drive to make impactful contributions is crucial.
