Kelly Services is seeking a Vulnerability Analyst who will be responsible for configuring vulnerability assessment tools, performing scans, analyzing vulnerabilities, identifying relevant threats, recommending corrective actions, and summarizing results for relevant operational teams for one of our top clients in Nashville, TN





**Length:** 05/04/2020 to 05/03/2021 (Contract W2)



**Pay Rate:** $55.00-60.00/hr. (W2)





**Responsibilities:**




+ Plans, develops, configure, and executes vulnerability scans of organization information systems

+ Analyzes data from threat and vulnerability feeds and analyzes data for applicability to the organization

+ Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, standards, audit requirements, and regulations

+ Manages enterprise vulnerability assessment and configuration assessment tools ensuring a risk-based approach focusing on business outcomes.

+ Identifies, tests, and resolves false positive findings in assessment results

+ Performs compensating controls analysis and validates efficacy of existing controls

+ Generates reports on assessment findings and summarizes to facilitate remediation tasks

+ Recommends security controls and/or corrective actions for mitigating technical and business risk for vulnerabilities

+ Ensures root cause analysis is performed and effective in improving the program and group as a whole

+ Produces vulnerability, configuration, and coverage metrics and reporting to demonstrate assessment coverage and remediation effectiveness

+ Engages with technical teams in the business and central IT to facilitate seamless processes related to vulnerability management and its intended outcomes





**Candidate Evaluation Criteria**



Candidates will be evaluated based on their ability to perform the duties listed above while demonstrating the skills and competencies necessary to be highly-effective in the role. These skills and competencies include:




+ Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one

+ An ability to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans, or behaviors

+ An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business

+ An understanding of organizational mission, values, and goals and consistent application of this knowledge

+ Technical expertise in system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, network and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, etc.)

+ Technical expertise in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security

+ Strong self-managed work ethic and appetite to learn and expand technology and security knowledge, skills, and tools.





**Required Education and Experience:**






+ BS in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (required).

+ 5+ years of past experience in information security, especially in a vulnerability analysis role on a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a Security Operations Center (SOC)

+ .5+ years of experience using at least one scripting language (e.g.: Perl, Python, PowerShell)

+ 1+ years of proven experience using SQL Query or other query tools

+ 2+ years of proven experience in layer 3-5 technology OSI stack

+ .5+ years of cloud experience in PAAS and IAAS

+ Experience with containers, virtualization, dev-ops, and other technology skills are a plus.
