PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Coordinates and supervises the daily and weekly activities that occur on the assigned shift; provides leadership, motivation, training, and development of the workforce; executes against customer/site requirements; participates in continuous improvement activities as part of the site management team and ensures company policies are followed and site develops positive work culture.


Schedule production lines, coordinate department activities, and insure that delivery dates are met. Provide technical leadership to insure that on-going process of continuous quality improvement is maintained. Insure the application of an effective program in the area of safety, training, two-way communication, employee health and welfare, housekeeping, and proper job performance. Review work orders; assign plant maintenance workloads, including preventative maintenance, to insure that machinery and equipment are kept in good working condition. Support inventory control program to insure lowest possible inventory expense, on-hand availability of all raw material and reduce space allocation inventory storage. Maintain liaison with other plant functions and use all other available means to keep fully informed of developments in the area of new and improved machinery, materials and techniques.

Provide and interpret for management, accurate and timely reports on operations of the plant. Maintain required records in performing assigned duties. Develop and recommend standards in the areas of manpower requirements, volume, and priority of work and cost expenditures for the production, maintenance, and shipping departments.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment. Nonwovens experience preferred. A bachelor-s degree is preferred. Flexibility to work a 12 hour shift.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good interpersonal, teambuilding and leadership skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and documents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.

COMPUTER/MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, while using safe lifting practices.

The employee must be able to climb ladders. Ability to work 12 hour shifts every other weekend when business demands warrant a 24-7 continuous operation.
