**Job Description**


Assembles small parts or subassemblies related to the fire sprinkler monitoring industry by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Repetitive movement of lightweight parts (1-10 lbs./part).


Use of hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, box cutters and power tools. (air drivers torque between 3-55 in/lbs.)


Packing operations include packaging parts into cartons and taping boxes using auto tape dispensers.


Movement of pallets containing completed parts using a pallet jack. (pallets weigh between 42-900 lbs.)


Some operations require computer entries and must be accurate.


All operations require the ability to read and follow written instructions from an operations manual.


Assembly workers are also required to rotate from job to job occasionally.


Works at different work stations as production needs require or shifts from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience


Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent

combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


Other Qualifications

Must join the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1 upon hire.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use fingers or hands to assemble parts using small screws or other fasteners. Employees are also regularly required to reach for parts with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand;

walk; sit and talk or hear. While standing may be minimal in some work stations, the packaging area requires frequent standing. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift 1 ounce to 5 pounds, they may regularly lift 6-10

pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 11 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and

ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration through the use of hand tools. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
