We are currently seeking a Social Media Strategist with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

**TASKS.** The contractor shall:




+ Create and implement a Social Media Communications Plan that covers social media accounts (FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn) and NHLBI marketing channels (Granicus-GovDelivery).

+ Leverage recurring analytics reports to keep plan timely and effective as well as measure their success.

+ Measure and analyze benchmark data and be able to provide recommendations and revisions of communications strategies going forward.

+ Drive engagement with social media influencers and communicate with followers in a timely manner (given best practice standards and federal guidelines).

+ Produce and disseminate relevant, original, high-quality content for social media updates as well as other internal and external publications as required. Ensure that all external communications are consistent with NHLBI, NIH, and federal policy.

+ Participate in NHLBI and OSPEEC meetings and workshops in order to gather insights into that which is most needed with respect to dissemination.

+ Monitor and stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications.

+ Investigate, recommend and plan for NHLBIs adoption of potential additional social media platforms by understanding the added value and risks (Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)

+ Work with OSPEEC strategists, staff, and contractors to create social media and promotion materials for symposia, conferences, workshops, meetings, and other events.

+ Lead a monthly recurring meeting to coordinate multiple institute social media accounts that are managed by a variety of content creators of varying backgrounds.





**REQUIREMENTS.** The contractor must have:




+ Masters degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Masters degree.

+ Minimum of Four (4) years of professional experience in communications, social media marketing, and/or graphic design related field.

+ Hands-on experience in content management and creating professional, high-quality products.

+ Enthusiastic team player, who is highly organized and attentive to detail and can work well in a fast-paced work environment.

+ Experience with balancing a diverse workload and prioritizing projects in order to meet changing and competing requirements within NHLBI. Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to pivot based on project direction.

+ Ability to synthesize content into digestible messages for public consumption.

+ Experience with using graphic design software (InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro).

+ Proficient with workplace tools like MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

+ Familiarity with use of social media monitoring and management tools including Symplur and Meltwater.
