**Entry Level Firmware / Software Engineer**

**Job Summary**


Design and develop ophthalmic surgical equipment firmware / software for embedded microprocessors and generate control algorithms for implementation in software and /or instantiated into programmable logic.


KEY ACTIVITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Design implement and document firmware for embedded Kinetis and Coldfire microprocessors in C++.

+ Generate new firmware requirements documents and modify existing documents.

+ Test code prior to release Ensure proper design documentation, and verification testing is performed.

+ Function as a technical interface in the use of outside design houses.

+ Working with other engineers, develop algorithms as needed for code.

+ Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/ TRAINING


+ Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, computer science or engineering. Equivalent experience may be considered.

+ Proficiency in C, C++, and RTOS

+ Experience working with micro controllers

+ Experience with NXP Kinetis processor / MQX or RTOS helpful.
