Kelly Science & Clinical has an exciting opportunity for someone highly motivated and analytical! This role is with a team of sciences and technologists working to develop new technologies and polymeric products. This role can contribute to multiple projects while gaining and demonstrating strong instrumentation skill. This is a great fit for someone with previous chemical R&D experience, but training would be provided for exceptional candidates.



**Responsibilities:**




+ Work in a laboratory environment with some guidance from senior staff to help prepare and characterize chemical formulations to be used in a variety of applications

+ Use independent judgment and execute routine and non-routine activities following accepted procedures and safety practices

+ Modify equipment or procedures to meet technical requirements and document any changes made

+ Be able to prioritize and have a strong internal and external customer focus

+ Actively communicate work in a timely, clear, and effective manner

+ Be responsible for insuring a high level of safety, quality, and timeliness of results on projects

+ Demonstrate proper handling of chemicals, a chemical awareness, and a strong safety awareness

+ Adhere to companys quality policy and ethical business practices





**Qualifications:**




+ BS degree with at least a 3.0 GPA in chemistry, polymer science, material science, chemical engineering or a related field OR

+ Associate degree with at least 5 years experience in a chemical laboratory

+ Ability to readily communicate and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment

+ Ability to reason through and complete assignments under minimal supervision

+ A strong chemical laboratory safety awareness

+ Adequate visual acuity to read chemical container labels

+ Able to safely handle hazardous chemicals, including but not limited to isocyanate, amine, epoxy, and acrylate-based materials

+ Ability to lift, carry, and pour from containers weighing up to forty pounds

+ Ability to easily work with computerized equipment, Microsoft software packages (Excel, Word, Outlook), and select SAP commands.
