**Sr. Clinical Lab Manager Blood Banking**

Kelly Scientific Resources is currently recruiting for a direct hire Sr. Clinical Lab Manager to assist with the management of all Hospital Services and Component Laboratory Operations for blood banking facility located in San Antonio, TX. Responsible for all blood shipments are delivered in a timely manner.





**Job Responsibilities:**



+ Responsible to assist with writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure employees are trained in all departmental procedures. Responsible for additional technical support concerning product use and content for Hospital Services staff and customers and component prep.

+ Responsible for compliance with all regulatory standards affecting blood product distribution, storage and irradiation, and records for those activities for audit functions.

+ Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (including donors) through established feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

+ Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.




+ Manage and direct front line staff, supervisors, and managers for hospital services and component lab.

+ Assure staff schedule reflects sufficient coverage to consistently meet production and customer needs as efficiently as possible.

+ Evaluate blood inventory and projections daily to ensure sufficient quantity and variety of blood products are processed, labeled, and available to fill orders.

+ Assure an environment of candor in consistently communicating positive and negative performance feedback to staff.

+ Provide appropriate management with the inventory status report daily for the sales activity and inventory levels of the blood supply.

+ Have a working knowledge of processes in the component lab.

+ Lead efforts to assure commitment to process improvement, operational efficiencies, and reduction of product waste/discard.

+ Manage resource sharing of blood products to meet strategic goals.

+ Maintain appropriate inventory expirations.

+ Write, review and update all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

+ Ensure department procedures and policies are maintained and staff performance conforms to procedural requirements.

+ Maintain and secure all sensitive information documents for the radiation program.

+ Prepare annual budget for Hospital Services department, assisting with budget monitoring for Hospital Services and Components.

+ Investigate, respond and take corrective action if required on departmental QIRs.

+ Perform cost and productivity analysis for Hospital Services and Components for strategic planning goals.

+ Ensure container validation and temperature control test for quality control are performed within guidelines.

+ Ensure timers and thermometers are maintained and calibrated for the department.

+ Interface directly with customer hospitals and clinics to ensure their needs are met.

+ Prepare monthly reports for upper management.

+ Perform quarterly department meetings to include safety procedures.

+ Report any potential problems to the Director of Product Management.

+ Interview and make recommendations for hiring, terminating, promoting, demoting, orienting, evaluation, counseling, and salary charges for departmental personnel.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.



**Education**



+ Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work relative to the field of assignment. The required major is Medical Technology or Life Science.



**Licenses and/or Certifications**


Texas Operators Drivers License



Medical Technologist (MT)(ASCP); Required SBB (ASCP) preferred





**Job Requirements**



+ Requires six or more years of blood banking experience.

+ Prefer two or more years of supervisory/management experience.

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to learn multiple systems

+ Strong computer skills
