JOB OVERVIEW

Develop and implement mechanical control solutions to achieve greatest productivity in relating to the production and quality assurance of parts, information systems and equipment documentation

Work with vendors to establish control strategies and automation details. Perform work within applicable standards, guidelines, and procedures

Perform technical engineering activities as part of a project team and/or execute technical tasks in the design, development, implementation, and documentation of process automation/control projects

Involved in the implementation, installation, validation and ongoing development of controls and automation systems to insure they meet stated requirements.

Handle project ranging from single machine builds to plant-wide automation processes

Works cross functionally to optimize product offerings to reduce costs and improve value

Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment

Collaborate and communicate positively and effectively with engineering, production, planning and others to resolve issues and accomplish goals

Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines in a multi-tasking environment

Interfaces with customers to design, develop and implement projects, troubleshoot, and provide training

10% - 20% travel is typical


QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to lead an engineering organization and drive the team to achieve deliverables on time and on budget.

Knowledge of Ethernet networking, IP addressing DHCP and static, Sub-netting, VLANs, basic routing, Managed switch basics

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

10 or more years of prior industrial controls and automation experience on projects of various sizes and complexities

Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems in test and operational environments

Expertise with automation software ( **Allen Bradley** or Siemens desirable) with knowledge of automation testing, verification, and validation

Hands-on electrical schematic design automation software experience (AutoCAD Electrical)

Experience with capital equipment design, production, testing, and installation

Knowledge of and experience using industry standards and codes, and ability to engineer design based on customer specifications.

Ability to function as part of a cross functional project team

Ability to lead / manage engineers on project teams (remove/change)

Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
