The Sr. Pathologist role is newly created due to growth and is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Pathology Services and Necropsy Programs as determined by the Director of Pathology.


**Job Title:** **Sr. Pathologist**


**Overview** Company is a world leader in mammalian genetics and human genomes research. Founded in 1929, this is an independent research institution with location in Maine, CT., California, and China. Research supported by the NIH, DOD and foundation funding sources, generous philanthropic donations have led to taking research in bold and innovative directions such as microbiome, computational genomics, 4D genomic structure, reproductive biology, Alzheimers disease, cancer, and glaucoma.


**Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) the following** **:**


+ Ability to provide consultation, pathological interpretation, and report preparation for contracted studies executed by the Jax In Vivo groups; and they must also be capable of providing supervision and coordination of tissue collection for the Organizations Necropsy and Pathology Services.

+ Provide pathology support for the Organizations Scientific Services Necropsy program, including final oversight and guidance regarding tissue collections for internal customers (researchers, sick mouse program) and external customers.

+ Read studies, consult, and prepare reports for Organizations In Vivo Services.

+ Conduct pathological assessments for the Organizations Sick Mouse Program.

+ Provide pathology support as requested to the organizations research scientists, Mice and Services.


**Education/Experience Requirements** **:**


+ Veterinary degree (DVM **OR** VMD) **OR** Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Pathologists **OR** MS **OR** PhD

+ 5+ years experience with mouse pathology and disease.

+ ACVP/ECVP board certification (anatomic pathology) required.

+ Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills, including authorship of regulated pathology reports.

+ Experience working on contract studies preferred.
