Description **SR QUALITY ENGINEER – Saginaw, MI**

Our client in Saginaw, MI, a highly reputable automotive parts supplier, is currently seeking a Sr Quality Engineer to join their staff. In this role, this individual will be responsible to support all advanced quality engineering activities, including supplier and customer deliverables, and performs a wide array of quality related functions and development. Good communication skills with customers and employees are an essential element in performing the duties of this position. **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**


+ Supports Quality Management activities when Quality Manager is absent.
+ Fully participate in and support the existing quality management system(s).
+ Supports safety and good housekeeping practices.
+ Actively supports and maintains QMS standards within the plant and at customer locations, which includes:

+ Internal Audits

+ External Audits

+ Policy Changes

+ A.I.A.G. Core Tools
+ Responsible for meeting customer sample submission requirements.
+ Acts as a focal point to help lead customer concerns with respect to quality.
+ Organizes and leads cross-functional teams to develop corrective actions utilizing 8-D, or similar customer-specific formats.
+ Provides Supplier Customer-Specific training as required.
+ Key team member of the Advanced Product Quality Planning function to support the creation of new program PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow documentation.
+ Fluent in industry practices and statistical methods.
+ Maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow for all production programs.
+ Support the product floor operations, which includes:

+ Part / Assembly analysis

+ Station design changes

+ Machine troubleshooting

+ Assemble a sort operation
+ Performs Gage R&R on production equipment.
+ Oversees Layered Process Audit System.
+ Responsible for overseeing internship rotations for the Quality Department.
+ Performs other functions as directed by management.
**REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:**


+ **Bachelor’s degree** **in an** **engineering field** , preferably **Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering**
+ A **minimum of 5 - 7 years** of **professional experience as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry**
+ **Supervisory / Leadership experience** , or an inherent willingness to lead others; this individual will likely be considered for **Quality Management** opportunities in the future
+ **Strong communication skills** ; able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, as well as customers & suppliers; will serve as an important representative of the company while on customer & supplier site visits.
+ **Detail-oriented** , able to **multi-task** and **prioritize** effectively
+ **Local candidate** , or willing to relocate to the greater Saginaw / Mid-Michigan area
