**Customer Job Title:** Sr. Scientist


**Job Description:** We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Molecular Biology team of experienced researchers working on developing a rapid molecular diagnostic device. The Client system detects infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and Influenza within 3-5 minutes on a handheld device. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with detailed knowledge of isothermal amplification and RT-qPCR workflows and demonstrated hands-on experience.



Key Responsibilities:

Development, validation/qualification of isothermal amplification assays

Design experiments to optimize and develop Clients next-generation molecular diagnostics platform

Demonstrate competency in troubleshooting, optimization and implementation of challenging and innovative assay

Contribute to validation/qualification protocols and reports, bioanalytical reports, etc., as appropriate

Initiates investigation of new experimental approaches using scientific theory and technical literature

Serve as functional representative/expert on multidisciplinary project teams

Exposure to different dynamic aspects of a startup and working independently


Desired Skills and Experience:

Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology

Strong molecular biology skills, including nucleic acid manipulation and analysis

Experience with PCR/ RT-qPCR experiments and BSL-2 lab required

Meticulous documentation abilities and excellent time and lab management skills

5-10 years of industry experience required

Experience with diagnostics and commercial products required

Assay validation experience required

Experience with FDA regulatory process is a plus
