We are currently seeking a Stem Cell Biologist to support the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

**TASKS/SERVICES** : The contractor shall:

(1) Genetically engineer induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) lines using CRISPR/Cas9 technologies to introduce disease-associated mutations; introduce endogenous epitope tags for downstream biochemical experiments.

(2) Collaborate with team within a stem cell core facility; perform cutting-edge genome engineering and stem cell culture technology.

(3) Conduct independent research relating to the genetics of Alzheimer's Disease-Related Dementias (ADRD)including semi-independent application of standard genome engineering protocols of human stem cells and related cell culture, validation and quality control techniques.

(4) Create and maintain an accurate research tracking system and database for all research activities; keep records of daily experiments and results.

(5) Prepare reports, spreadsheets and slides for presentation and/or publication.

(6) Identify and recommend resolution of discrepancies; recommend/determine the appropriate data to use, record or report.

(7) Establish and maintain data communication, including interactions with other laboratories.

(8) Perform routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment; ensure that supplies are properly stocked; obtain quotes and prepare purchase requests.

(9) Draft, edit, and revise manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.

(10) Attend meetings; provide presentations of ongoing results and findings.

**REQUIREMENTS** : The contractor must have:

(1) Ph.D. in a related discipline.

(2) Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to stem cells and CRISPR/Cas9 technologies

(3) Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

(4) Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
