**Structural Analysis Engineer - Aviation/Aerospace**


Kelly Engineering is searching for Structural Analysis Engineer with aviation experience on behalf of one of our premiere clients. Our client is growing and searching for an Engineer with 2+ years aerospace/aviation experience to join their team. You will work remotely to support the installation design and certification of electromechanical cabin technology onboard commercial aircraft. You will lead the structural analysis of components on engineering projects as part of the design certification process. This will include development of required structural, stress simulation, performing the structural engineering, and testing analysis.


Essential Responsibilities:


+ Actively assists project management and engineering team in solving internal and external analysis-related challenges

+ Responsible for development and review of relevant structural analysis documentation required on basic engineering projects

+ Coordinate analysis engineering vendors for outsourced analysis work such as CFD, dynamic simulations, etc.

+ Review installation design at both preliminary and critical design review stages to provide inputs to design based on preliminary stress analysis

+ Develop stress analysis models, utilize existing structural analysis tools (such as FEMAP), and/or perform hand calculations to substantiate the structural integrity of installation designs with oversight from senior engineers and FAA designees

+ Develop fatigue and damage tolerance evaluations for installation designs using hand calculations and/or analysis tools (such as AFGROW)

+ Document structural analyses and fatigue assessments in Structural Substantiation Reports and Damage Tolerance Evaluation Reports

+ Develop basic cooling analyses using hand calculations to substantiate to specific cooling requirements and document in Cooling Substantiation Reports

+ Perform and document weight and balance analyses to substantiate the weight and balance impact of the installed system then document in Weight and Balance Change Reports

+ Develop test plans and reports in support of structural and/or cooling substantiation

+ Review analysis documentation for basic projects


**Qualifications of the Successful Structural Stress Analysis Engineer**


+ BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or in a related technical and/or equivalent field.

+ Master in Structural Engineering or Composite Engineering a plus

+ Minimum 2 years of experience in aviation/aerospace or a highly regulated industry with e/m stress analysis and strong doc control processes or procedures & adherence to procedures.

+ Hand calc competencies required

+ Proficiency with FEMAP or NASTRAN, required

+ Working knowledge of any electromechanical systems highly preferred

+ Strong technical writing techniques including outlining regulations and/or requirements and detailing substantiation of them required

+ Strong analytic problem-solving capabilities required

+ Familiarity with aircraft structures and mechanical equipment or in a similar field, such as automotive required.

+ Experience with crack growth software such as AFGROW a plus

+ Familiarity and/or experience with Title 14 CFR regulations a plus
