The Supplier Quality Manager will manage the activities of maintaining and reporting on supplier quality activities and supplier performance. Work with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, R&D and Suppliers for local and the Shenzhen offices to support the quality department and initiatives of the company. This position is responsible for assisting in the selection of new suppliers, early supplier involvement, supplier development, the monitoring and auditing of supplier quality, corrective actions related to suppliers and ensuring that suppliers understand and comply with company specifications.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Develop, maintain, analyze and report statistical data to determine supplier compliance to current quality and engineering standards for parts and materials and all other activities relating to supplier quality.

+ Facilitate and support the qualification process.

+ Generate reports, internal and external business correspondence, quality procedures and specifications.

+ Prepare inspection plans and supplier audit reports then monitor and follow up on action plans established by suppliers.

+ Coordinate quality objectives with suppliers to maximize product reliability, compliance with standards, ensure part and material availability and to reduce costs.

+ Provide technical support to suppliers to develop supplier quality systems.

+ Manage 5 to 10 employees engaged in inspection, investigation, audit activities, component and material qualification NCR, SCAR and qualification process.

+ Provide inspection and auditing services at supplier facilities when needed to support the manufacturing process.

+ Implement quality assurance training programs within the department and assist in the overall training of the quality organization.

+ Participate in activities with various departments to support quality related objectives.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelors degree (B.A.) in engineering from a four-year college or university is required (Engineering degree is a hard requirement).

+ 6+ years experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment

+ Familiar with quality systems such as ISO, QS9000, PPAP.

+ Familiar with metrology and measuring techniques.

+ Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.

+ Ability to create histograms and Cpk studies for process and part capability studies.

+ High level of proficiency in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access)

+ Ability to communicate and present information to various levels of the organization

+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

+ Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

+ Must be willing to travel when required. 20 to 30 % annual travel required.

+ Must be able to work for long periods of time sitting, standing and walking.

+ Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

+ Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese desirable but not required.
