Description Kelly Services is seeking a **Synthetic Organic Chemist** for our client, a global Agrichemical company, in Indianapolis, IN. This position is a long term contract opportunity and can be extended indefinitely based on performance and business needs.

**Our client will pay around $26- $32/hr depending on qualifications/experience.**

This role is based in Indianapolis, IN. Qualified candidates not commutable must be willing to relocate on their own expenses for the role.

**Summary:**

This position will support R&D development associated with the Agrochemical industry. Focus will be on improvement and increasing efficiency of various products produced at the site, as well as development of new technologies, and will involve research to generate novel molecules for synthesizing and testing fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides across a variety of crops.

The Synthetic Organic Chemist must have experience in the synthesis of small organic molecules. Preference is for experience with heterocyclic chemistry and biological relevance SAR. Ability to independently synthesize, analyze and purify compounds is required. Experience in the use of liquid chromatography systems such as Isco, NMR, IR and LC-MS are a strong plus.

Training will be provided for safety and in house computer systems such as those used to order chemicals, submit materials and search the literature. Candidate must be a team player with good communication skills and have good personal leadership and initiative.

This position will require a high level of technical ability, knowledge of modern synthetic techniques and experience with chromatographic and spectroscopic methods.

+ BS in Chemistry (or related field) and 3+ years synthesis industry experience or MS/PhD in Chemistry (or related field)
