Description for Accounting Statement tester

Basic Function:

Perform Quality Assurance (QA) acceptance testing and data validation using various testing methods and best

practices. Leverage knowledge of trust accounting and financial reporting to help validate, verify, thoroughly

document and communicate any data discrepancies or gaps identified.

Responsibilities:

- Execute QA test scripts - find, document and report and bugs or data discrepancies. Re-test, as required.

- Maintains Rigor in validation of the accounting effects of all portfolio activity, including purchases and

sales, corporate rates and actions, cost basis, principal and income pay downs, pricing, capital gains and

losses, net investment income, dividend distribution amounts, and expenses on client statements.

- Reconciles accounting statement data s to various sources.

- Identifies out of balance conditions in a timely manner.

- Conducts tolerance checks looking for outliers and errant data conditions

- Reconcile transactions and trades posted on accounting statements to source trust system.

- Prepares QA testing packets for review and sign off by lead testing manager.

- Collaborate with other QA testers and project team to share findings, information and suggestions

- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by functional work area.

Nature and Scope:

- Individual Contributor Role

- Works under supervision of project team

- Interacts with project management, technology personnel and business resources

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor-s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or equivalent combination of

experience and education. In lieu of degree, 4 years of trust accounting and reporting experience in an

operations environment at a financial institution with one year experience working as

end-user data validation for trust or accounting related enhancements, conversions and/or reporting projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Methodical, detail-oriented and thorough approach

- Self-motivated

- Strong Mathematical Skills

- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software package

- Advanced knowledge of core trust accounting rules and client reporting.

- Advanced knowledge of securities transactions related to trust accounting reporting

- Proficient ability to review accounting statements, notice finite inconsistencies, and ensure data integrity

Preferred:

- Experience on trust system reporting enhancements, conversions and client accounting statements
