**Technical Sales Engineer**

Kelly Engineering Resources has an outstanding opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer. This role requires a BS in Engineering or Science and an understanding of either machined or electroplated components. You will be responsible for new and existing business development from prospecting to managing & developing existing relationships. You will be responsible for developing marketing strategies and developing new areas of growth.

**Essential Responsibilities of the Technical Sales Engineer**

**B2B Business Development**

+ Cold calls, prospecting to product development engineers, CTOs, Directors of engineering prior to and during the design phase of new product

+ Provide customers with cost/benefit analysis

+ Consultative solutions to design/sourcing problems

+ Identify new industries/marketing verticals and product niches that can grow the business

**Relationship Management**

+ Own the customer relationship from prospect to customer services

+ Work directly with customer product development staff on costs, production timelines/delivery dates, quality, etc.

+ Work directly with customer sourcing & quality teams to ensure components meet customer QC standards.

+ Interface with internal production and quality related to any part nonconformance, or corrective actions.

+ Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams both onsite and remote

+ Travel to customer sites throughout the North America to develop and maintain existing business.

**Qualifications of the Successful Technical Sales Engineer**

+ Knowledge of machining components or selling to OEM, Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 automotive manufacturing customers

+ Strong business acumen including negotiating deals from start to finish.

+ Project Management skills.

+ Problem solving & analyical troubleshooting.

+ Solid understanding of business financials.

+ Bachler Degree Required - Business, Enginering or Science

+ Record of business development and relationship management

+ Prior experience selling to automotive customers highly preferred, but will consider other industries that purchase machined components.

+ Knowledge of automotive Product Development process, NPI process a plus.

+ Knowledge automotive Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing organizational structure for decision making, buying for high volume components.

+ Excellent verbal & written communication skills required. Interact with customers at all level including Executive Leadership.

+ Participate in Marketing, Website Management, Tradeshows.

+ Record of problem solving,forward thinking, tenacious mentality.

+ Ability to travel 40% throughout North America (US, Mexico) currently, Europe in the future.

+ Work onsite out Rhode Island facility.

Compensation: Base + performance based bonus.
