Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Technical Writer to join their team in Akron, OH/Remote for an American global corporation focused in the business areas of diagnostics, life science research, food, environmental and industrial testing. **Technical Writer**


**~12 Months (contract W2)**


**Pay Rate: TBD**


+ Need creation of documentation like tech manuals for products we are developing, or changes to technical communications to the field.

+ Focus on guiding things to be completed.

+ Will be maintaining current documents as well, FrameMaker and RoboHelp are required (at least 1 year of experience).

+ Need to be able to understand the documents, should be technical and prefer previous experience with mass specs in the past.

+ We require candidates with life sciences experience.

+ Should be able to follow technical knowledge.

+ Will be building instructions, updating training docs, installation and service manuals.

+ This is a regulated environment.

+ The work will be collaborative and will need to be able to prioritize on multiple projects at once.


Description:


+ Location 520 South Main Street, Suite 2423, Akron, OH 44311. Will need to go onsite to Akron, OH, as long as they can drive to work at the site 1-2 days/week in Akron, OH.

+ Duration to 9/30/2022

+ Schedule 40 hours/week Monday-Friday standard 9-5 days, working eastern time zone.

+ Interviews 1-2 Video.


Purpose:


Learn about Companys current R&D portfolio and take on the role for creating hardware and software help for internal and external customers. In this function, you must have outstanding communication and technical writing skills, as well as be highly motivated to support a broad array of engineering, and new product development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:


+ Works with global cross-functional teams including customers, project stakeholders, subject matter experts, service, and technical support throughout the product development lifecycle to design, plan, and develop a wide range of technical and end-user information products. Products may be for software, hardware, and service including technical guides, tutorials, and Web-based help systems to support new scientific instrumentation products.

+ Creates clear, concise, user and service documentation for both internal and external customers.

+ Researches, writes, proofreads, edits, and may translate end-user manuals and online help.

+ Adapts OEM documentation to fit company specifications.

+ Creates screen shots and illustrations using graphic tools. Takes digital photographs of Hardware for inclusion in guides and technical documentation.

+ Assists in the design of documentation templates and the development of groups tools. Maintains Technical Writing SOPs and templates.

+ Complies with documentation control practices and procedures.

+ Ensures documentation reflects current safety information.

+ Maintains files of the latest revision level documentation necessary to define product configuration and demonstrate full traceability.

+ Publish weekly release notes to internal and external stakeholders with information on product updates, releases and fixes.

+ Edit other writers' content and documentation for consistency and continuously update content with current information.


Qualifications/Education/Technical Skills:


+ 3+ years of technical writing experience.

+ Degree in Science-related discipline with emphasis on Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or Engineering and technical communication.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

+ Excellent team orientation is critical.

+ Life Science instrumentation and lab experience preferred.

+ Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and skills in Jira, SharePoint, FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, and CorelDRAW preferred.

+ Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.

+ Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
