Description **Test Technician in Fargo, ND for 24+ months**

**Job Description:**

Monitors functioning lab tests, performs simple corrective actions and contacts the appropriate individual when required. Cleans up as time allows.

Specific Position Requirements:


+ Shift Hours 3pm-11pm
+ Electronic testing, aviation testing, locomotive industry
+ Computer literacy is VITAL familiar with electronics, multi-meters, or underlying theory
Position Qualifications:


+ A.S. in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification or equivalent experience
+ Minimum one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering
+ Preferred: Three or more years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering
+ Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling correspondence with internal departments, vendors, and customers
+ Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing
+ Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
+ Possess a thorough understanding of test equipment and methods e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
+ Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause
+ Ability to read intermediate engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams
+ Maintain necessary product records and documentation
+ Ability to comprehend and use product/process component datasheets
+ Ability to assemble and disassemble products
+ Ability to maintain lab equipment
+ Ability to perform basic mechanical work
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Hands-on SMT soldering experience
+ Performing electrical/ mechanical testing, design validation, and verification of electronic or electro-mechanical equipment and products.
Job Duties:


1. Perform intermediate validation testing on prototypes and existing products.
2. Work with Engineering to understand and apply defined test requirements.
3. Troubleshoot defective lab equipment and provide required maintenance as needed.
4. Build intermediate test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product verification as required.
5. Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
6. Inform supervisor of process, test, or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
7. Assemble mechanical/electrical fixtures and test setups as required. This will require performing intermediate design functions
8. Perform inspection, test, and failure analysis as necessary to determine cause of defective tests or assemblies.
9. Conduct functional test of electronic circuits and PCBs according to engineering instructions.
10. Create test documentation when required for prototype products if engineering instructions are not available.
