**Kelly** is currently seeking an experienced **Buyer/Planner** in the **Hatfield, PA** area to help out in a short-term **temporary** assignment!


The Buyer/Planner is responsible for developing production/supply plans utilizing forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. The Buyer/Planner will identify and maintain the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are vital to understand the root cause behind material shortages, expedites and inventory issues and then resolve the issues by implementing long term countermeasures.


**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**


+ Place and manage purchases orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, PSI plan and related planning data.

+ Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to prioritize, expedite and de-expedite purchase orders based on material availability, department resources, changing requirements and customer service requirements.

+ Management of inventory turn improvements, backorder reduction and coordinating activities with other Buyer/Planners and departments.

+ May support new product development process and support supply chain planning activities at the new product team level.

+ Lead quarterly Kanban resizing for assigned product group lines and production cells.

+ Lead Dynamic Material Presentations (DMP) and Kanban implementation including maintaining the Kanban Calculator which includes the calculation of the bin quantity and size, coordinating supplier requirements and daily management requirements.

+ Analyze lead times, safety stocks and lot sizes to determine resource requirements and constraints.

+ Participate in cross-functional project teams related to planning, purchasing and process improvement initiatives.

+ Manage and maintain inventory levels to the company goals at the raw, spares, and finished good levels.

+ Monitor and understand key planning parameters such as safety stocks, buffer stocks and lot sizes.

+ Lead special projects related to material planning, purchasing, system changes and inventory management.

+ Provide training and support for Material Coordinator l and ll.

+ Support site inventory 1-2 times a year and is responsible for root cause analysis of discrepancies as a result of cycle count or physical inventory.


**Education and/or Experience**


+ High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in materials planning, production control or master scheduling related role or a Bachelors degree with 2+ years of experience in purchasing and supplier management including lean concepts/tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Kaizen and Problem-solving Process and understanding of production flow principles and processes.

+ Proficient in problem solving, root cause analysis, and long-term countermeasure implementation, including raw material shortages, excessive expedited freight, and inventory issues

+ 2+ years of ERP experience, preferably SAP, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) including Pivot tables, V-Lookups, etc.
