**Essential Job Responsibilities:**


+ Using CAD or AutoCAD to analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them.

+ Developing blueprints for new tooling designs as per client or project specifications.

+ Sharing designs with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback in the new designs.

+ Developing prototypes and testing new designs.

+ Carrying out quality assurance tests on new designs.

+ Traveling to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams.

+ Creating blueprints and designs using CAD or AutoCAD.

+ Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best deals.

+ Scheduling meetings with management and marketing personnel as required.

+ Keeping abreast of developments in the Engineering field by expanding networks and attending events.


**Additional Job Responsibilities:**


+ Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.

+ Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.

+ Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.

+ Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.

+ Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.

+ Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.

+ Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.

+ Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.

+ Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.


+ Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies


**Experience:**


+ Tooling engineering injection molding rubber/plastic: 5 years

+ Manufacturing: 5 years (Preferred)

+ Strong AutoCAD skills

+ Complete undergraduate degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Tool Engineering (preferred but not required)


**Required Skills and Competencies:**


+ Experienced in tool design of injection molding machines which requires thorough knowledge in electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems

+ Knowledge of rubber/plastic molding

+ Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem solving

+ Ability to work with associates at all levels including directors, managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians

+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, partners, the public and external agencies

+ The ability to work independently and to collaborate with others.

+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

+ Well organized with excellent administrative skills

+ Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide analysis to solve problems

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ High level attention to detail

+ Proven ability to work independently with only general direction from leadership

+ At least 5 years of U.S. based experience

+ Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction


**Preferred Skills and Competencies:**


+ Previous experience operating industrial equipment associated with rubber/plastic molding

+ Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles (Preferred)

+ ISO Certification experience

+ Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Tooling Engineering or other manufacturing-related degree (Preferred but not required)


**Working Conditions/Other:**


+ Safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes provided for the job.

+ Currently 4 10 hour days Mon Thurs, with Friday-Sunday off. Friday & weekend support sometimes needed.

+ Requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to work with injection molding tools

+ Ability to lifting to up 50 pounds and physical tasks associate with heavy equipment, machinery, and production materials including operating forklifts

+ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer / supplier meetings or industry conferences
