The Toxicology Technician II is responsible for executing in vivo Toxicology studies including data entry and review. May participate in special assignments. After initial training, the role will typically follow a staggered schedule which will include working weekend days with two days off during the week and/or provide staggered coverage within a workday.


Conduct In vivo GLP/GMP/Research Medical Device biocompatibility testing

Conduct In vivo pharmaceutical GLP/GMP/Research testing

Assist with in vivo study method development

Responsible for procedures such as health monitoring, observations, test article administration, weighing, identification, blood and tissue collection, extract preparation and animal handling

Assist with in vitro GLP and non-GLP studies (i.e. cytotoxicity) if needed

Prepare and release protocols, reports, data sheets, SOPs and notebooks

Regulatory documentation

Participate in committees as assigned by management

All other tasks as assigned by management


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


BS or AAS in Biology, or related discipline and 1-3 years of related experience. AAALAS certification or Veterinary technologist license preferred. Experience with animal handling and related procedures is required. Cell culture technology and aseptic/sterile techniques a plus. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GLP/GMP) prefered


Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).


Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management, co-workers and clients. Read and comprehend work instructions/SOPs and protocols and write clear concise reports.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and manipulate equations involving exponential and logarithmic functions. Must be able to use metric.


Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and solve non-routine problems. Ability to analyze, interpret and draw conclusions from data and exhibit problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Must be able to effectively plan and organize work activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and\or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
